AVOID THIS EXPENSIVE POC
Total piece of expensive garbage. Leaks from screws holding base to tank. Manufacturer is a joke In trying to get some help and answers. I ended up taking the pump out of the sprayer and attaching it to a 2 1/2 gallon pail and making my own sprayer that didn’t leak. The manufacturer should be embarrassed selling this piece of junk. Amazon should be embarrassed for letting them sell it here. Anybody with a positive, I call BS. The sprayer is truly a piece of junk. Don’t waste your money on it. You’re going to regret it. The company recognizes there’s a defect and all they wanna do is send you another one to replace it. Basically replacing a defective unit with a new defective unit. The Hudson sprayer sucks. You’re going to regret owning it and using it it’s going to leak your product all over the place. I ended up leaving the trail of weed killer through my lawn because of the manufacturer defect. Contact me if you want to see the setup I made to replace this hunk of crap sprayer. I used a snap in battery I place of the heavy battery they install(also crap). The setup I made to replace it cost 3 times less than this entire piece of garbage costs. I have nothing to gain posting this but warn others not to purchase it and avoid it at all costs. It’s way expensive and the quality is less than China manufacturing. If it’s made in America, I’m not sure what American there referring too. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID. TOTAL AND I MEAN TOTAL JUNK

Great Quality Backpack Sprayer
I bought this HUDSON 19001 4-gallon water backpack for my carpet cleaning business and I love it! It sprays perfectly, holds plenty of water, and is very reliable for my jobs. Comfortable to carry and easy to use—definitely a great investment for professionals.

Long battery, worked great
The battery is supposed to last for 30 gallons. It has lasted much longer than that. The battery also turns off when not spraying. The wand has plenty of hose and is long enough. There are several attachments, so you can pick about any spray you want. The spray volume is just about right for good coverage without having to wait for it or rush through it. this helped make sure I have covered the entire weed without wasting herbicide. The top opening is large enough to fill without a problem and has a screen to help keep debris out of the tank. The only complaint I have is that the 5 gallon capacity is too close to the top, which means you have to fill it slower to avoid suds from limiting the volume or spilling out. The wand has a 'lock' setting, so you don't have to keep pressing, which helps avoid hand fatigue. I have run about 40 gallons through it so far with no problems and the battery still shows full. Using this made spraying weeds so much easier and faster that I would not want to go back to anything else. Obviously, this is for large areas that required 10's of gallons for coverage.

Not worthy, made from cheap material
When I received the product it appeared to pretty good quality. On day one when I filled up the tank and put on my back I noticed my shirt was getting wet on the bottom. The tank was leaking on bottom corner, I was very concerned. The tank was filled up with pretty heavy chemical mix to kill my weed and now is all over my back. So I managed to finish the job by wearing a raincoat, I had no time to file a claim and wait for new tank. After using it for couple hours I hang the spray tank in my garage for about a year or so. I knew it leaks but at least I can use it if wear raincoat. So I grab it this year to give another shot and as soon I start spraying water was coming out right out of handle where plastic is connected. I am extremely disappointed in quality of this product, they should use more durable material. This product is hazardous to use and should be recalled immediately.

Best sprayer I’ve used in 30 years.
Update 5 years later. I have a 1/3 acre lot and I use the sprayer at least twice year to spread Tenacity over the yard and sometimes for spot treatment. I use lawn dye and it gets a little messy but cleanup is a breeze and knock on wood no clogs yet. Strangely I’ve only had to charge the battery twice in 5 years so kudos to the battery. ——————— Purchase: 2020 I wasn’t prepared with how heavy 4 gallons was but quickly got use the weight. I loved the consistent spray pattern which did the trick at a moderate pace. After 2 hours in the yard the battery pack was still fully charged and my arm wasn’t sore from having to pump the sprayer every 5 minutes. Highly recommend.

sprayer leaks but can be modified to not leak as much
I have two of these sprayers and am contemplating getting a third however I heed the warnings of prior reviews. The more you use the sprayer the more the hose bends and binds where it enters the sprayer in the back, and also twists and turns until it loosens up a bit then starts to leak. If you unscrew the bottom and replace the weak hose coupling with an alternative clamp, or two pliers expandable gas line type clamps, that might stop it from leaking which everyone complains about. The problem with sprayers is they're all made in China and to get any part you have to buy a whole new sprayer. I was able to get a wand valve from the distributor but they don't have the hose, so I rigged it with auto parts store hose, which worked except that now has no molded end to the valve, that I had to rig with plumbing fittings, which works but it leaks unless I hold the valve open before the power is turned on. For something around $200 this sprayer works with the 4 gal capacity and backpack I need. However I will look at field king brand before deciding, as mentioned in other reviews. Like I said, you're stuck with China no matter where you go.
