Great seat, welcome improvements.
We replaced our Britax Frontier 90 click tight with this seat. The click tight door was giving us issues and we decided to go back to trusty old Graco. We've owned several gracos and never had issues. This seat isn't *as* sturdy feeling as the britax. But, I will say it is still very nice and secure. The seatbelt install is very straight forward, and the latch is super simple as well. The cover is nice, padded, and soft. The colors of the pierce pattern are very attractive. My son seems comfortable in it. The cup holder and cubby holes are (as always) a hit.I was very happy to realize the nautilus now has a no rethread harness and buckle holders. It's little features like that that make the seat just that much better. Very welcome improvements to an already great seat. I would recommend for anyone looking into a mid-budget seat. It may not be THE fanciest or THE longest lasting on the market, but it will still work for the large majority of families who don't want to spend a small fortune on a car seat. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and I have no complaints.

Great for 5 year old son.
Seat tie down anchors are only rated for 45lb!! You might need to use seat belt to tie down depending on weight. My 5 year old son is about 40lbs, he likes the seat and is comfortable for him. He's probably 3'7" and the head protector still has plenty of room for height. Straps latch nice and he's able to buckle up himself. Only CON is the center buckle needs to be pulled taught and is a little cumbersome for him too do himself when sitting on it. Second con with seat would be the fabric he sits on, it tends to flop around and isn't as firm so it'll fold over or shift when he seats himself, causing that center buckle to need to be pulled out from under him. All in all, seat quality is awesome and my son enjoys it alot. We like the little cubbies in the arm rest for storage. I've used other cheaper seats and they tend to fold in on themselves when tightening down for safety or they never fully tighten, I'm happy to spend a little extra for Graco when the quality shows!!

Simple, versatile, and ensures confidence
This carseat is easy to use and is the perfect last carseat for my boy. I love that this is a harnessed system (which we are continuing to use) that will turn into a high-backed booster seat and then become a booster on its own. The price is right for this to be so versatile and have such high safety ratings. My son is very comfortable while in it and it is easy to use. He loves his cup holder and the cubby where he can store a toy or something else. I definitely recommend this and will be buying another in the future. This will probably be my daughter's next carseat, as well.

great overall design and easy to switch between vehicles
This is a huge improvement over our previous car seats. Lots of incremental changes that add up to a nice product at a reasonable price point.Pros:-shoulder straps automatically adjust as height is adjusted on the head area-kids love the storage area below the armrests (perfect for small toys)-quick and easy to take off cover for cleaning. tip: helps if same person takes off covers as puts back on-straps that tie seat to car are nice and long, makes moving between cars super easy and quick-for those using a vehicle seatbelt, you run the belt in a nice gap behind the back area. It is extremely easy and a vast improvement from other models.Cons:-the only thing that I struggled with was adjusting the crotch buckle. This was an extremely difficult task on both seats (I bought 2), and one that's usually easy on other car seats we've had. The buckle had excess fabric on the strap which made moving the buckle position tough. It required using a small flathead screwdriver to apply downward pressure. You only have to move the buckle position once in a while, which I'm glad!

Difficult to tighten straps unless back brace is moved to highest position. Basic physics people..
This unit is easier to install. Is sturdy and full of nice features for the parents, and the kids.My child enjoys the added "stash" holes to stash her snot-rags and half eaten banana. However rather in there then in the floor boards of my vehicle.Anyway - The Seat does feel of nice fabric, seems durable and should withstand the time of countless spills and drool contents that might make their way on to it. The added ability to remove the back and turn it in to a base seat for a larger \ older child helps due to the cost of these seats are already pretty high. The support it obviously offers to my child's head during an impact is actually pretty substantial with the back piece on which is something to appreciate. The only real con i have for this is that of which many others have explained. Now, im a grown man, not according to my wife, but i am the forever "jar opener" in my house. And i don't take that responsibility lightly. However i also took a few physics classes and understand basic leverage. This seat in the lower back position for a smaller child, is a huge pain in the rear to tighten down the straps. Going from a side "crank" one to this was a bit of a disappointment. The straps work against the seat in the lower position and once in the higher backed position seemed to move much easier as they are no longer pulling at various angles. So buyer beware, if your kid is not at the larger side of fitting in this seat with the back brace on, don't buy it. If you do buy it, be aware that if you raise the back brace it makes life so much easier, Was going to return but once in the proper position its very doable.
