Granddaughter recommended
My granddaughter suggested I read this book that she was reading in summer school, what fun. I taught third grade and wish I had been able to share this book with my students. I also wish I had had a band apart friend when I was nine years old. Enjoy the book.

I love it!
This is a fantastic start to a wonderful middle grade series. The main character is sweet and hilarious. I will be purchasing the rest of the series for my son.

Lies did not inspire further reading.
It’s probably not the book. We only downloaded this to participate in Alaska’s State Battle of the Books. My grand daughter read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and enjoyed it. This book begins with telling the reader to help him keep a secret from his dad. That was unappealing. We were moved on to another book in the list. I thought I would go back and see if this one had a good ending and we would read it. After three or four books that did not appeal, we ended up not participating. I never checked on the ending of this book.

Absolutely brilliant, laugh out loud book, my daughter has read this book over and over again and listens to it at bedtime every night.
