I have a bike but not sure if it's male or female , I guess as this is a Unisex product it doesn't matter?

This product will work fine on any sort of bike. I’m mystified why Park Tool refer to it as unisex.

Does it clean really heavily dirty, sticky chains, that haven’t been cleaned ever?

Yes! Arm yourself with some white spirit and a large glass jar. Pour some white spirit into the Park Tool chain cleaner, attach the Park Tool to the chain. Spin the pedals 30 times. Pour the dirty white spirit from the Park tool into your jar. Pour fresh white spirit into your Park tool, and whiz the pedals another thirty times. Detach the Park Tool, and rub your chain dry with a rag. Oil your chain up so it doesn’t rust. Reclean your chain with the Park tool every few weeks, but use the dirty white spirit from your jar for the first spin of the pedals. Cool!

Type of degreaser to use with this? I've read that citrus/water based don't dry out properly and a petroleum solvent (eg white spirit) is better?

I use Muc Off degreaser, then a water displacement spray. Solvent based degreaser can attack the plastic construction 😁

Could you Diesel in it as a Degreasant

I’m not sure about diesel. After most rides I use muckoff detergent in the machine rotating cranks a few times then rinse thoroughly with clean water from hose pipe (rotating the cranks until the water runs clear) then remove the machine and dry chain with a rag. Once dry I apply wet or dry lube and leave for 24hrs.
