## Description

The ESEE-6P fixed blade knife features grey linen Micarta scales and a black finished blade with a plain cutting edge. Includes a coyote brownmolded sheath, clip plate, paracord and cord lock.
The ESEE-6 design represents a fine balance and fit that is light for it's size. The Micarta handle feels at home in your hand and the rounded pommel offers a hole for lanyard attachment. The 3/16" thick 1095 steel blade is full flat ground. The ESEE-6 can serve as a primary wilderness survival knife, or be fitted to your modular system for duty carry in a tactical environment.
Care/Maintenance: ESEE carbon steel knives are made from 1095 steel. 1095 is a top choice for professional cutlery designed for hard use, it will rust and stain if not properly cared for – especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades properly lubricated and cleaned. We suggest using a dry film rust inhibitor such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH.
ESEE-6P fixed blade survival knife is a full tang 1095 high carbon steel construction with an black powder coated flat ground 6.50″ blade. This blade features jimping on the spine for increased thumb grip. The handle is made out of Micarta canvas, with a lanyard hole in the rounded pommel. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: What's the difference between 6P, 6P-B, and the other versions?**
A: Colors of sheaths. 6P would be plain blade with a brown sheath. 6P-B plain blade black sheath. 6S S = serrated. CP = clip point / sharpened back spine

**Q: Is there a version of this knife that comes stuffed with garlic cloves?**
A: That version was discontinued, sadly

**Q: Can you strike a spark from a ferro rod from the spine of this knife? Does the coating interfere with the spark?**
A: Many people use the blade edge to strike a spark, they just use the very closest part to the handle, you don't use that much at all for cutting. But the rumors about 1095 rusting are much exaggerated, so I always strip the coating off an ESEE or Becker 1095 knife and then just put a mustard/vinegar/tomato salsa patina on the metal, and this is enough to prevent rust, unless you are in the habit of leaving your knives in standing water. As long as you do basic maintenance like drying your blade after a hard day's use, it will not rust (I live in Florida, so this should carry a little weight).

**Q: Are the materials manufactured overseas and then assembled over here? Thanks**
A: ESEE Knives are manufactured in Idaho Falls, Idaho by Rowen Manufacturing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Truly A Great Knife
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 17, 2016*

If you've been thinking about buying the Esee 6, wait no longer. I wrestled with spending what I did for it, but once I held it in my hand, I immediately felt like a got a wonderful deal. You can tell that there is a tremendous amount of thought placed on the quality control over at Esee. The fit and finish is absolutely perfect, it has almost perfect balance, and feels amazing in hand. From a performance standpoint, the Esee 6 has a nice 5.75" cutting edge, with 6.5" of 1095 steel from handle to tip. It is 3/16" thick and sharp as a razor right out of the box. Given those specs, one can see that this blade was made for cutting stuff, and it does can well. I've made fire sticks, now drills and simple shelters with it, then turn around process a fish without a problem.I would consider this a wonderful "Jack of All Trades" knife. The way it was built gives you the ability to slide back on the handle, which transfers most of the knife weight forward, and generate more chopping power. Additionally, the design provides the ability to slide up on the handle, where you are shortening the blade at the center of weight distribution, which allows you to gain control of the blade for finer tasks.Their are knives out there for all walks of life and needs. I am 6'3", and wear a size XXL glove. This KnifeWorks well for me... I EDC the Esee 3, which was purchased as a result of how much I like the Esee 6, and it also feels great in hand and performs well.If I had to do over, I would have purchased this knife, from what looks like a typo above, a year ago when I first started thinking about it. It gets to go out and play every time I go, while all the other 9 knives stay home. Stay safe my friends!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s an ESSE
*by on Reviewed in the United States July 21, 2019*

It’s a ESEE, it has the best warranty in the business, and it’s made in America. You can buy a knife for a lot less but would you trust it with your life in the wilderness or pass it down to your kids or grandkids? Anybody can make a knife out of 1095 steel but the Rowen Factory’s heat treat is second to none and that is really worth the extra bucks. The knife is beautiful but not so much that you are afraid to use it. ESEE knives are made to be used not displayed. You can watch the torture tests online and see for yourself. If I could only have one knife it would be the ESEE 6. There are many good knives out there in this price range but the 6 has a finger choil where some of the others do not. I personally prefer this feature for more detailed work with the knife. Most ESEE knives are carbon steel so if you are lazy about maintenance and can’t keep the blade clean and oiled you would be better off with a stainless steel knife. The Micarta scales are nice and durable but they do hold dirt and oil more than wood or nylon and they are harder to keep clean. The sheath that came with my knife is ok but there are better options out there. It holds the knife securely.Overall I don’t think you will be disappointed with this knife. If you are into Bushcraft then a smaller, lightweight companion knife is probably also needed for more intricate detail work and camp chores. Something like a low cost Mora Companion HD or similar would be a good choice.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My new friend
*by on Reviewed in the United States September 9, 2013*

I have an abundance of knives: little ones, big ones, shiny ones, dark ones, pokey ones, and choppy ones. This is my first ESEE, and I must say I'm impressed. The ESEE-6 is one of those knives that just looks good and feels good in your hand. It's kind of difficult to explain, but if you're a regular knife user, no explanation is really needed. It comes sharp and ready to go. And go it does.I don't usually make a habit of "abusing" knives, but I received the ESEE before a weekend camping trip and decided to abuse it maybe just a little bit, so I spent the weekend with the ESEE making big pieces of wood into little pieces of wood (something I don't usually do with knives ... I use an axe), randomly digging holes like a kid on a beach, and cutting through chicken bones (barbeque chicken over a fire is good). I even used the ESEE to open a few metal cans, although doing so made me cringe as I was half convinced I was going to bend the tip of the blade (the blade did not bend). The ESEE handled everything in my little unscientific weekend experiment without any problem whatsoever.Although I won't be abusing my new ESEE again (I like it too much to be mean to it), it has already become my go-to camping knife, and I have a feeling it will be camping and hunting with me for a long time to come. Have you ever met someone for the first time and you instantly like him or her? You're not sure why, you can't really explain it, but you just have an instant connection. The ESEE-6 is the knife equivalent of such a person: you just like it the first time you pick it up (the knife, not the person, as I'm not sure how the average person you just met would respond to being picked up).At the price point the ESEE-6 is a difficult knife to beat. I'll be purchasing more ESEE knives because good knives are like good beer: why have only one?
