AA Battery Operation a + | Excellent Performance
AA battery operation is a huge plus as a criteria in choosing a wireless setup.Built in rechargeable batteries in comparable models that can't be replaced means the unit is disposable after the the internal battery can no longer hold any charge and reached the end of its lifespan. They are typically permanently attached and replacement process on your own can be a hassle or impossible. With an AA powering option, you can keep using it not just for as long as the electronics inside are functional for years but you can immediately swap new ones for about to expire and dying batteries with minimal interruption to recording process. Typically one fully charge set of AAs can cover you for a full day worth of recordings. The powering versatility allows the unit to be used for back to back events as long as you carry fully charged rechargeable AA batteries with you.I say rechargeable AAs because they offer a far more economical solution to one time use AA batteries that even if recycled, which I do, still carry an environmental impact. A reliable high capacity rechargeable battery pack can power this thing for many cycles and dramatically reduce the environmental footprint. You also save a lot. Just make sure to remove the batteries if you plan on not using the unit for a long time. Also never assume that charged AA batteries retain their full charge after a certain period of time. Although a lot of improvements have been implemented in the latest AA models and they do indeed retain at least 75% of their charge after sometime, always fully charge everything before a shoot. A battery testing setup is essential as well. Many chargers have built in reconditioning systems built in. Essentially older batteries are drained, reconditioned and then charged so that they can maximize the hold charging capacity. The versatility of this set for allowing you to add two microphone to a camera is a great plus as well. This reduces the need for having extra receivers.I had a previous generation of Sony wireless microphones and it performed flawlessly in every climate and condition from oceans to mountains and freezing weather. Also invest in a number of microphone wind covers. They tend to come off or get damaged and you don't want to not have some spare ones at hand when shooting in case anything goes wrong.

Has a strong signal but still not perfect.
I had previously used a road wireless go II For a large event with over 2000 people but they were far too week and got a lot of interference. These are much stronger and can run farther without getting interference. However, the sound quality leaves something to be desired and I did get a few dropped. Words as people were speaking, may be due to the Density of the crowd, or possibly due to cell phone interference. But they are definitely a step up from the RWG2. Another gripe about these is that it’s kind of designed for Sony products. So, if you don’t have one of the cameras, it’s really designed for there’s a slight drawback there. Do not worry about battery life, but you will have to set what type of battery source you’re using, whether it be USB-C, alkaline, or a mix of both as a fail over. You can’t wear out the battery.
