No more dead batteries
It charges 3 batteries. Works great. Moultrie could have done a much better design job though. I wrote to them about it and never heard back. As you can see I had to critter proof the the cord. They broke the plug by hanging on it. Had to replace it. After that I used axel grease on the legs and that stopped them for the most part. Find the cheapest smelliest stuff you can. Critters won’t touch it and it doesn’t bother the deer. My suggestion was simple. Change the location of the plug in to inside the cage. Run the wire up the inside wall of the feeder and punch a hole near the top. Install the solar charger up there so the critters can’t get to it. Oh well. Hope this helps someone.

It's working. Installation modification.
I'll have to say, it is a lot smaller than I thought. I have an older feeder with the pro hunter set up. I first installed this by removing one of the screws and replacing the spacer with the mounting bracket for the panel. It was a perfect fit and I was pleased with the angle adjustments. Well. The first time I lowered the barrel, I lowered it into a bucket for stability and caught the panel on the edge of the bucket and snapped it off. Second attempt for installation is what is in picture. I removed part of the bracket and used Gorilla double sided tape to stick the panel to the barrel, warning this tape is awesome!, once in place I also wrapped the wiring with wire loom and taped it all up to protect it from being pulverized by corn. I read some comments where the feed had pulled the wiring out so I just want to give it the best chance of survival. At this point it's been in use for almost 2 weeks and working as expected.

Great Item
Fast shipping, love these for my deer feeders. Moultrie makes a great feeder and accessories, very easy to connect the power plug into feeder and connect bracket to feeder. These solar panels keep the 6 volt battery charged the entire season. Only down fall, the bracket is made of plastic. I had this system on the bottom of a tripod feeder and the deer rubbed against solar panel and broke the bracket. Little gorilla glue and black gorilla duck tape, solar panel back in working order. Wish bracket was made out of metal or metal through it just for a little more support.

Great little charger
I’ve been using Moultrie products for years and I’ve always been very pleased with the value. I like that many products They offer are “plug n play” and require no rewiring or major mods in the field to get your hunt back underway. Mounting is versatile, connection was quick and it does a great job keeping my feeder batteries charged up with no issues.

I’ve been using the Moultrie 6-Volt Solar Panel with my game camera and feeder for the past few weeks, and it has exceeded my expectations. Setup was straightforward, and the panel is durable enough to handle the elements. It’s been out in the rain and direct sun, and it’s still working flawlessly.

Excellent little solar panel. nice size, .using it for backyard project .. you will probably have to extend cord with the alligator clips.. I would like to get a 12 volt model like this..cant seem to find it , I may have to buy another one and hook them in series..

I actually received the model pictured here. Be careful when ordering. A lot of listings claim to be Moultrie Feeder Solar Panels but are actually generic panels. (I know, I got one before I ordered this version.) This unit keeps the battery charged up nicely and simply plugs in to the controller case. No holes to drill. No squashed wires. I would have given it 5 stars except for the way they want you mount it on the lid. The panel rotates with the lid every time you open the feeder, and the wires aren't long enough to allow this. Plus you have to unplug the unit every time you place the lid on the ground. I ended up buying a long threaded rod, some aluminum tubing and a few stainless steel washers and nuts. I replaced one of the screws that fasten the two clamshell halves of the feeder together with the rod. I mounted the panel to the top of the rod. So now the charge panel is part of the feeder, not the lid. The rod is long enough so that the panel ends up above the lid, making it easy to rotate to get maximum sunlight.
