Strong built beautiful Cast Iron tawa
Got this in 2,677.50 (In same price it is available on their website too, but of course Amazon delivery is faster). The main reasons for going for this tawa VS many others available from Indians brands was -+ The Handle. For making dosas all types of handles are fine but for making rotis/phulka you have to remove every time. The long handle really helps here.+ Its exactly 26 cm (10.23 inch) perfect for chapati, roti and paratha size and also home cooked dosas. With this size and weight (approximately 1.9 kg) combination its really comfortable for my mom to handle while cooking and washing.+ Although we did our own seasoning with groundnut and mustard oil, It was very well seasoned from before. Surface was smooth, black, even and shiny.+ A complimentary brown handle cover was provided.+ There were no defects in craftsmanship and joints, full tawa is a single piece cast iron including handle.+ Heats evenly. We didn't go with Lodge one in same price range because of the structure of this tawa. Its perfectly round with slight depth in center vs purely flat and upward edges/corner in lodge where extra oil can deposit and will be hard to clean, can damage seasoning. The only benefit was that Lodge one is made in USA while this is made in China (although its true but surely its a very high quality import and not cheap Chinese make that doesn't last long)If your main aim to is to cook only dosas then you may go for bigger one in much cheaper price, just have to season it properly. And although this was seasoned, We did our seasoning using oven method. Washed it with soap and water, dried it and applied oil, wiped oil and put in oven at maximum temp. Repeated this 2-3 times and we good even blacker and shiny seasoning layer.

Didn't meet the expectations.
Firstly, I am using stainless steel gas stove. The reason why I am stating this is because, with SS gas stove, the heat spreads out well unlike with glass stove, the heat doesn't spread out well to protect the glass from heat damage. Secondly, I am used to making dosa in the smaller burner. I have tried cast iron tawas from brands such as Bhagya, Indus valley, dynamite, hawkins and the great Indian kitchen. Now coming to the review of Meyer 28 cm tawa: Nicely packed. The tawa is very heavy. Very sturdy. Seasoning is good. I am well used to cast iron tawa, so I had no dosa sticking to tawa issue. The tawa is too large for my usual second (smaller) burner. The edges of tawa didn't heat up well. But when I used on larger burner, the tawa did heat up well to little bigger central area. But the center still charred and the corners didn't cook well. The tawa doesn't have machine finish. That is, the surface is not smooth and it causes the oil cloth to tear up easily. And one of the most unexpected thing happened, which is after using the tawa, the burner became black. Should you buy this? Indus valley tawa performs exactly the same as this one but has smooth machine finish. In short, totally not worth spending ₹ 2500 for this performance. One more tawa is on the way of arrival. Once I test it out, I will update this review.

The media could not be loaded. It's a good one. Check the video and you will understand. You need to season it initially and it works as expected.

Fantastic Tawa
Fantastic Tawa it heats up efficiently and evenely sustaining heat. The draw back is that the handle heats up quickly and the cotton material provided is of no use and becomes useless within 15 days. Mayor should provide good quality handles made of woodden else the poduct may not serve its intended purpose.
