Clever, functional, minimalist design
Amazon reviews often amaze me. One fellow gives this clock a one star rating because it does not remain lit 24 hours a day - which is by design and likely a positive attribute for most purchasers. Another complains the alarm is not loud enough to wake the dead from slumber. Another says it is too expensive, as though the price had somehow been concealed from him when he made the purchase.Cut to the chase. Here, in a nutshell, is this clock. It is small -- about an inch and a half tall, the front face is four inches across, and the unit is about two and a half inches deep. It weighs a few ounces and fits easily in your hand. It has a grippy, matt exterior surface available in numerous colors. The deep blue is appealing and it looks just right next to the red, yellow and anthracite Sottsass 'enorme' phone on my nightstand.Operation is simple, and simply explained in many languages in the package insert. You insert the included aaa batteries. With the word 'off' on top, the alarm function is off... Imagine that. In that orientation, you push the 'set' button on the back and then use the hour button (which has a + and a - function) and the minutes button (also with + and -function) to set the time. There is also an option to display time in 12 hour or 24 hour format. If you touch the top of the clock around the spot that is labeled 'light,' the digital display shines brightly for about five seconds. Otherwise it is dim but readable. Flip the clock over and it says 'on' in big letters. That activates the alarm. The alarm setting displays in the lower right hand corner. You use the same set, hour and minute buttons to set the alarm when the clock is in this position. When the alarm sounds, you can touch the top of the clock to snooze awhile before the alarm will sound again. Or you can flip it over to say 'off' on top and thus disarm the alarm. During the night, if you touch the top of the clock, the light goes on so you can read the time in the dark. Then it goes off again so you won't have a bright led display shining next to your bed all night long.Wow. That was really challenging, wasn't it?The alarm is, to my ears, almost annoyingly loud. Granted, I am a light sleeper, but it does not fail to rouse me from slumber. If you are really unable to wake to this alarm, you might consider erecting a bell tower atop your home and hire Charles Laughton to ring the chimes each day, perhaps yelling 'sanctuary' as he yanks the cord on each chime. A brass band complete with tympani and crashing cymbals also might do the trick.Expensive? That's all in the eye of the beholder. The price is displayed when you make the purchase. If the price seems to be more than you want to spend for a small digital alarm clock, then don't buy it! If you deem that a fair amount to pay for a cleverly designed, minimalist alarm clock, then this may be something you want to buy. I am happy that I bought it, and assuming it continues to work for a reasonable length of time, will continue to find it a five star item.End of review. Descend soap box and exit, stage left.

Simple and smart
This little clock is brilliant. What a simple design. It's small, easy to set, and foolproof to operate. You turn it to the OFF side when you don't need the alarm, and then to the ON side when you do. When the alarm goes off, you simply tap the top (near the front) and it snoozes 5 minutes. And you can do this as many times as you want. Then flip it over when you are ready to get up. The light does come on when the alarm goes off, but only briefly. You can also tap it during the night to light the light for a few seconds. It does not glow at all in the dark and it's completely quiet. I love this thing and will get another for my guest room. I think this would be good for kids and the elderly too. Who doesn't like simple?!Update, love this one so much I ordered another! Here's something new I discovered. You know how when you have to set the clock back 1 hour...but with digital clocks you have to go forward 23 hours instead? Or if you change your alarm time during the week, how that can be a pain.? This little clock has settings that go forward and back. Amazing how a simple, silly thing like that makes it so much easier to work. Why don't all clocks do this?!?

I can say that I am happy with it
Having had my Lexon alarm clock since Jan. 2016, I can say that I am happy with it. It does seem to be a little on the fragile side although it has a rubberized cover. Setting the time and alarm does come with some trial and error but once it's learned, the process to change both becomes much easier. The Lexon unit, itself, is about the size of a deck of cards but the alarm sound it makes is loud enough for me. It's a nice unit, great idea, but for the money you spend, it's just to expensive.

Awesome alarm clock for people who wear glasses
The thinks I like best about this alarm clock are:1) Battery operated: I can pick it up and hold it in front of my face if I wake up and need to see what time it is without putting on my glasses. Anyone with bad vision can appreciate how annoying it is to hunt for your glasses in the dardk so you can read the time on the alarm clock.2) The light only comes on when you touch it. No more lights shining in my face when I'm trying to go to sleep.3) No buttons or knobs to operate when the alarm goes off. Just push down on the top for the snooze feature or turn it over to turn off the alarm. Once again, a bonus for those of us who need glasses to see the alarm clock and no fumbling around in the dark trying to hit the right button to turn off the alarm. This is the second Lexon alarm clock I've purchased. The only reason the last one still isn't with me is that my cat knocked it off the table and it hit the tile floor hard. Before that, I had it for about 10 years and it worked perfectly. Highly recommended!

Not a Worth it!
Although the design is very attractive and although the flip design is interesting, it’s not worth your money. The display screen is very small and the illumination is terrible. In theory the clock should light up when touched at night. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work as promised. If you buy it, you will be disappointed.

Near perfect alarm
This alarm is remarkably easy to set and turn on/off. The design is attractive and clean, and the flip on/off design is both efficient and fun. And being able to turn on the backlight to view the time or hitting snooze with a light touch anywhere on the top of the clock is much simpler than the more pinpointed gestures usually needed to accomplish those tasks in the dark on other alarm clocks. I just marked it down one star because of two wishes: I would prefer the alarm to be a bit louder. The alarm becomes a bit more insistent if left on, but it never gets to anything near blast-you-out-of-bed territory. Also, it's small and lightweight enough to be a travel alarm, but I haven't tried using it that way since there's no way to lock it and it might get flipped upside down in luggage handling, which could inadvertently turn on the alarm.

Expensive Crap!
This alarm clock worked perfectly for about a year. A couple of weeks ago, the display stopped working. Thought maybe it was the batteries, so replaced with new batteries -- still the same. This product is very well designed, but not built to last. And since it's quite expensive, it's expected to last a few years. This is a huge disappointment!

Rubber sticky and smudges
Unlike my last one of these the rubber coating on the outside of the clock is weirdly sticky and has dust sticking to it all the time as well the clock sticks to the cabinet underneath. Manufacturing flaw or poor material choice or incorrect storage prior to despatch. Not impressed. Will be binning it soon.
