These steps were a perfect choice. The brown leather looks nice and is ...
I ordered these pet stairs for our dachshund who has short little legs, a long body, and weighs about 15 pounds. He loves to jump on and off the sofa and I was afraid that eventually he would hurt his back so I started searching for the right product and read countless reviews. These steps were a perfect choice. The brown leather looks nice and is can be wiped clean if necessary and they are a perfect height for him to make the two steps and then onto the sofa and the spacing of the steps is appropriate also. They are sturdy enough to support his weight and does not sag at all when he steps onto it. It did not take more than a couple of days for him to master using the steps. I have no hesitation in recommending this product for a pet of mine's size. I do not have anything negative to report about this product.

These stairs would be almost PERFECT if the foam was a bit stiffer. As it is they are PRETTY NICE!
We bought two of these Smooth Steps Folding Leather Pet Stairs to use for our three miniature dachshunds to ascend and descend to and from the couches. The steps are fairly attractive, unobtrusive at least. That is, except for the large cartoon-like logo prominently displayed on the front, which detracts from the otherwise neutral appearance. Some people may put these in rooms where they'd like a bit more formal appearance. I would prefer a more subtle or less-prominent logo, but I wouldn't ding the product for that. The leather covers are high-quality, very smooth and apparently well-stitched, and two zippers allow access to the filling. The foam blocks filling the steps are where I deducted 1 star. The foam is too soft, and the dog's feet sink in a bit too deep. This doesn't help the dog get a secure footing as it climbs. Even my little dachsies, all well under 20 pounds, found the foam too soft, and at first they were scared to step on it (they got over it after a couple of days). If it continues to bug me I will find my own stiffer foam and replace the contents, keeping the nice leather covers.Nonetheless, I will say that these steps are doing their job, and they look pretty good doing it, so... Four Stars!

Great for big and small dogs
We have 5 dogs and while they are all fairly young we're still concerned about them jumping off of the bed and landing wrong and getting hurt. We have only had the steps 1 week and already they are starting to go up them, we're still working on getting them to use them to get off but hey baby steps lol . Our dogs range in weight from 20lb frenchies to 80 lb bullies and the stairs hold up under everyones weight, the material will be easy to care for and the non slip bottom keeps them in place.

Not So Great!
These are okay....Not great. I guess it depends on how high your furniture is and what kind of floors you have. It looks good, but I think it's too low for most sofas and beds. It also slides, and that tends to scare the dogs, so they shy away from it. I was just disappointed in it. Could have been designed much better, especially for the price. I'd pass if you have normal - high furniture height and/or hardwood floors where you it will be located for your pup.

Great for Puppy Safety!
We have a 9" drop from the main living area to the family room. Our new puppy (all 2 pounds of her) would surely fall unless we did something. So we ordered these stairs, and they are wonderful. People asked me how she'd know how to use them? No one had to show her - she was up and down and up and down the day she came home from the breeder at 8 weeks old. The steps are so soft that she will sometimes lie down on the bottom step to recover after we've been busy playing ball. For us, this was a great choice. It won't be long before she doesn't need them, but that's ok. They have kept her safe while she is growing to her full 8 pound adult size!

Helps Cushion Falls For Elderly Pets
The thing we like most about these, is that they help cushion the fall when our elderly Dogs legs give out. Also they are not so high in between steps. Most of the other brands we looked at were simply to high from one step to the next Since we have a small elderly Dog it is just to hard for her to make such a leap on her own.Plus as I said, our elderly Dogs legs tend to give out from time to time. And her sight is going too.So the cushier steps are a plus. We even bought a 3rd set for the Bedroom. Now she can get back up on the Bed to sleep.

Good for long-legged small breeds
Our dog, a big-time jumper, just had spinal surgery and should no longer jump on and off the couch and chair she spends her day on.She's about 16 pounds with really long legs (think min-pin/rat terrier mix, with maybe some Italian greyhound thrown in), and a lot of the little pet stairs we saw had steps that were too short -- I was afraid she'd fall if she tried to use them to get off the couch. Plus, hard plastic with very little carpeting seemed slippery, and she'll always have a little numbness in her back feet. This is just right. Two stairs to get up, and a nice long, cushioned bottom stair to ease the jump off. Also, it's low profile and nice looking. I don't hate having them in my living room.

Good for short boosts. Slippery.
It's really good for smaller dogs reaching slightly higher perches. The surface is a little slippery and it's lighter than I thought it would be. It is pretty much what it is advertised to be and I use in it's folded up form for my Shetland Sheepdog to get on to the console of the Van between the front seats.
