Legacy Series: An Urban Fantasy Boxed Set (Books 1-4)

I read the whole series in one go because I just couldn't out it down! The plot twists kept me telling myself, "just one more chapter".

Characters were interesting, scary, funny, and complex...the plots were involved, detailed and strategic...what more could you ask for in a paranormal fantasy series? Oh, and the “romance” was highly entertaining, too!

I loved this series and plan to read more by this author. Deserved the 5 star as it keeps your attention till the end and you find yourself wanting more. Anyone who enjoys Urban Fantasy will love this.

I loved her books. I never wanted it to end. Very exciting, action packed , and well written. With every penny .

I liked the first book even though it was a bit cliche - badass fighter chick secretly hiding her magical abilities meets alpha male shifter guy. The vampire bars are a fun idea especially crimson with the angsty teen wannabe vampires who actually are vampires. However, it didn’t take long for things to go downhill to the point where I was just skimming the last book to get through it. First you have the super powerful bad guy who manages to get his butt kicked by main chick every time they meet yet just won’t die, then after the story ends there’s another random “bad guy” who really isn’t bad but is even stronger but only warrants a few chapters, the main chick is trying to learn spells yet all the magical battles are just lobbing rainbow fireballs around, there’s lots of uncontrollable rage and anger and rage (and I say that twice because the author uses it over and over), and the author likes to rehash things like the definition of the cleanse over and over even though we already know what it is. There’s lots of awkward time jumps too like in the middle of a fight scene the main character would lose her magic and “several minutes passed” then she would fight again. Like what was she doing during those minutes? Just standing there? That’s just one example but it was very jarring to the flow of the story. Anyway lots more to nitpick but let’s just say I won’t be reading this series again.

Livi is hunted for being a Legacy, one of the oldest and rarest magic wielders. She's tired of having to hide away for something she didn't do. The Cleanse.This series is filled with everything you look for in great urban fantasy. A snarky, kick-ass heroine and her loyal best friend. The sexy, albeit arrogant love interest. And the amazing world with edge of your seat action. Don't forget the evil villian who just wants a magic free world with our heroine as his willing concubine. Too bad everyone would die in the process.I loved the series. The tension and build-up were on point. There was something left to be desired in the scenes between Gareth and Livi but it didn't detract from the overall story. This is one I highly recommend. ❤

This was my first time reading McKenzie Hunter and I very much enjoyed them. These books were recommended to me from a group I'm in, on FB. The storyline and world building is different than other multi supernatural books I have read but the main focus is magic. Obviously there was no cliff hangers since I got the boxed set so I just kept on reading. I was very engaged and found myself sneaking in a few pages here and there when I was busy. Now I am into rated R books with very graphic sex scenes, this one was pg-pg13. There was nothing in detail of equipment, just the act of it and not detailed, with that said I still very much loved this book and what the author was going for. Looking forward to reading more by the author.

I did not love this series, due to no fault of the author. (Actually, I should say "book" even though there are 4 in this package. I didn't finish it.) It is well written and the characters are interesting. Fans of all manner of paranormal fantastical beings will probably love this. Not my cup of tea, and I don't love the intensity of someone being hunted or chased under threat of death. I can read spy thrillers or hard boiled detective novels for that. Maybe in a different mindset or mood I would feel differently, but it is well done so go for it!

I liked Levy and needed to know what would happen to her throughout all four books. Magic, humorous comments and a strong female lead - what’s not to enjoy?

I love the legacy series and pretty much everything by Mackenzie Hunter. She is a one click writer for me. Fantastic characters, enthralling storylines and always so well edited. This is a great series that you won’t be able to put down. An amazing urban fantasy that will have you take a spine tingling adventure, fall in love with Levi and Gareth, cheer on what a badass Levi is and swoon for sexy Gareth. Some great support characters like Savannah, who will have you laughing and cheering for her loyalty and support. It’s a must read.
