The World of Little House (Little House Nonfiction)

I am a 42 year old woman who is in love with all things Little House and Laura Ingalls Wilder. I read this book cover to cover, and while it is certainly appropriate for a young reader, as an adult I also greatly enjoyed it. It is well written and organized with each chapter representing one of the Little House books. It has nice quality glossy pages, colorful pictures, and at 150 pages is a nice length. I highly recommend!

This is a great addition if you're reading through the Little house series, my kiddos love being able to try recipes straight from the book.

Beautifully illustrated, clearly written, this book is a great addition for any fan of the Little House on the Prairie series. I bought this for my upper elementary aged daughter, but I think I've enjoyed it as much as she has.

Just how little the Little Houses were. For those of us who have researched Mrs. Wilder's biography to find out the bits and pieces that didn't make it into the books, the floorplans of her houses in this books are spectacular. For those, like me, who enjoyed and continue to enjoy her books, the floorplans, recipes and photographs honestly help to put her stories into perspective. It's an entertaining as well as educational book.

I have spent the better part of a year reading the Little House series to my kids and planning lessons and unit studies to go along with it. This book is a great companion because it contains, recipes, and craft along with tons of background information. We have had a lot of fun learning about the pioneers like Laura's family.

I grew up loving all things little house and this book does a remarkable job of filling in gaps where the books left off and my imagination took over. My favorite feature by far is the careful floor plans reconstructing all of the homes where Laura Ingalls Wilder lived. I always imagined them when reading and having such beautiful illustrations was a special treat!
