Mehron Fantasy FX 1oz Purple by Mehron

I ordered this for the price only (super affordable & shipped fast!) for a mermaid man and barnacle boy costume I was doing and I had already come to terms with the fact that it might get cakey and start to flake off my nose. To my surprise, it was very opaque and just as easy to remove the next day as it was to apply. Didn’t make me break out or get itchy after it dried/set and the makeup held up for the whole night! I was half expecting it to end up smudged on my pillowcase (I passed out drunk, don’t judge me #Halloweekend) but it left no trace & stayed right where I put it on my face without my having to apply any setting spray or makeup primer. It survived selfies, one classy puke (don’t judge me), lots of shots that missed my mouth and a full on boyfriend makeout sesh. You’re welcome for the details and thank you for the product. This is one of the better face/body paints I have used. The color is vivid. It did not itch or cause skin irritation and washed off easily. It looked amazing for the first hour then started to clump up and fall off in some places-notably mouth and chest. I touched it up it as the night went on but was never able to get the smooth appearance I had when it was first completed. The makeup stayed intact around my eyes and on my nose. I would use this brand again

I had high hopes for this product but was sadly disappointed. The product crumbled when I applied it on my face, arms and chest. It has a thick consistency but is sheer when applied. The more product I applied, the more it crumbled. I washed off my face and dried it with a towel before I tried another time. I then thought that perhaps it would work if I applied a makeup primer. I was wrong - it was worse with the primer. The product crumbled faster this time. Washed my face for the 2nd time and thought perhaps it would work better if I use my regular foundation as my base and put it on top after it had dried. On this 3rd try, I felt that this was going to work. I decided to use a sponge to apply the purple face paint and it didn’t crumble. However, the paint was patchy when applied and would completely lift up whenever I tried applying another coat on top.

So it’s not the best Mehron product I’ve used. Most Mehron products have instant, easy coverage. But this one is a little difficult to get a clean coat of. I’m on layer 2 and it’s not completely opaque. It’ll do, but be warned.

I wore it like war paint before a good romp session.
