Low quality materials, but seems stable after assembly.
This thing was so warped I had to wrap a ratcheting tie down around it to assemble it. It is made of low quality pine. The larger pieces are cut up 2x4 studs. I know this to be fact as the printing "STUD" is still on the wood. The cross members appear to be extra low quality furring strip like you would buy at HD for $10 a bundle. Why did I give it three stars after that scathing review? Well... After it is assembled it seems pretty solid. I have doubts about it's longevity, but it definitely gives a stable feeling when you lay on your mattress. Note that I chose to glue all of the joints due to the low quality of the wood. If I don't forget, I'll update the review after several months of use.

useful product overall
I suffer from GERD aka heart burn, therefore i need something like this. I had always just put thick phone books under the legs near the head of the bed. however after i recently bought a house and some really nice furniture, I couldn't do that anymore or it would just look too silly. this product is one of the few that I found that does the trick without having to elevate the legs of the bed. in terms of heart burn, it actually works well. the head of the boxspring is 4 inches higher (for cal-king sized bed). the set up was very easy with power tools, i think a wrench is included for the bolts, total set up time was probably less than 15 minutes. I've used it for about 2 months and have been happy.why ony 4 stars? for one thing, I thought it should have more slats. i thought the gap in between each slat was a little too wide. so overall i don't feel this is as good for my mattress as a normal boxspring would be. therefore for this reason, I also thought the price was a little high. but i can't complain too much about this since most boxsprings cost almost as much and this is a rather unique product. secondly, and this is minor - the shipping was rather slow. thirdly, i thought that the head of the boxspring was rather high; it was higher than the original boxspring. if you get this, make sure you get the dimensions for your size so you know exactly what to expect.

Good design, reasonable assembly, excellent price.
I read many reviews before purchasing this item and thought I'd add my view too. First, the reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the wood could have been sanded, which would have made it 5 star.It arrived on time and with reasonable, though a little light, packaging. But inside the box all was well packed. We looked over the instructions and the parts, got the electric drill, and laid out the pieces and began. It was very easy for two of us to put together. It would be possible but more challenging for one. The bed-frame (we have the inclined) was well designed. Other than a splinter here and there due to lack of sanding, there were no problems. We did have to hammer one of the bolts in as the hole was a little tight, but it went together. Once all the wood was secured we added the slats. There are two "stops" on the frame to keep the slats in the correct position. There were not enough screws for every slat, but there are plenty to make it secure. BEWARE: Do not add screws to any slat without pre-drilling a hole or the slat may crack.Putting the cover on was a bit of work in stretching it out properly, but it did work.It took us about 45 minutes and works great!

I would not recommend this product
Overall size was an issue. I bought a King but width of product was about 1-1/2" narrow which contributed to a lack of support from the box spring to the bed frame. Was also short on the length by1-1/2". Slats were twisted and warped which made it difficult screwing them down to the frame. I would not recommend this product. I will probably end up using it for fuel for the fire pit. Very disappointed in the flimsey construction and lack of quality.

Cover fit perfectly and the end product looks nice. CONS
PROS: Angle is just right to aid with Acid Reflux issues that I typically have in the evenings. Instructions for assembly were simple to follow. Cover fit perfectly and the end product looks nice.CONS: A few pieces were warped and required a bit more force during assembly. A few slats did not have predrilled holes. Also, slight warping of the slats caused them not to rest in the central spine and no screws or predrilled holes were made to secure the slats to the central spine. We had to do that ourselves to make sure they were securely in place.Overall I am still happy with the product as it is doing the job it was meant to do. I know of a couple of nights so far that I would definitely had some form of acid reflux attack, but it did not occur while sleeping as the angle of the box help prevent the acid from getting up into my esophogus. The missing star is only from the slightly warped pieces and having to do some additional screwing that was not part of the instructions.
