This item seemed easy enough to use, but my 3.5 yr old granddaughter before I even backed out of the driveway, says to me yay I did it! Here you go Nana. And handed the strap to me. So I would not call it escape proof.

I like the idea of the design however I think they need to widen the snaps that go on the safety belt itself and strengthen the release buttons for more effort.-The snaps are not wide enough and we have to fold a piece of our sons safety belt to fit.-My husband and put our whole hand over that part when we push the release so our son doesn’t really see what we are doing but I suspect he will figure it out soon enough if he sees us slip up and can watch the release.As far as the release everyone is probably referring to being that it is easy for their child to figure out - I agree with them.With all of that being said we still bought 2 of these (1 for each vehicle).

I had high hopes for this, but my 3 yr old figured it out the first day and took it off. Not recommended, for smart sneak toddlers or kids. Might work for a younger toddler.

I needed a lock for my son who is four and autistic. He is known for getting out of every car seat so I picked this lock to add in addition to the other locks on his seat. He figured out how to open it within seconds... seems like it would work if you’re child doesn’t need it.

My 2 year old was able to get this off within the first 5 minutes. Also the length between the straps is way too long to do anything. I would not recommend this.

This would probably work fine for a baby, but my 2 and half year old figured it out in about 10 seconds lol. Seller refunded my return without any problems.

I purchased to keep my grandson’s from getting out of their car seats - they both were able to remove it easily
