Zippo Rechargeable Candle Lighters

I took way too long to buy this. First, who doesn't love Zippo products? Second their rechargeable line works great. I replaced might lighter inserts with them and love them. This has done away with the need for those expensive, short lasting, big candle lighters... and believe me, my wife LOVES candles. I guess I should say, if you're a dude reading this and you have a significant other who enjoys candles... boom, I just solved your gift problem. Get it. She will love it!

Someone in our household had been wanting to light some candles each morning and mentioned buying a lighter or some matches. I wanted to see if we could find something that would last longer. I had no idea there were so many electric lighters available! We opted for the Zippo unit rather than one of the many other oddly named brands, despite the price being a bit higher than the others.The construction of this thing seems really nice. It's mostly metal, feels solid, and so far has operated smoothly. We got ours just over a month ago. I have messed with it a few times just because it's so neat. It's been used to light candles each morning during that time. The battery finally needed to be charged just a couple days ago. So it lasted about a month with light daily usage. Not bad!

UPDATE: After posting my original review I discovered that it quit working because I had gotten a bit of wax on one of the prongs. I rubbed the wax off and it works great again! Have been using it for a few months now with no problems, and haven’t had to clean it again. Other reviewers mentioned noise; nobody in my household and none of the pets complain about any noise,Original review:This is a very pretty, sturdy-looking lighter. But it stopped working after about 3 days of use. I lit approximately 15 candles total, and then it quit. I thought maybe it needed charged again already, but after leaving it plugged in overnight it still didn't work. Cannot recommend this purchase.

Pretty good! Really glad not to have to use a disposable lighter, butane, or matches made from trees. I mostly use it for lighting candles, incense, and my stove. I have used it for lighting a campfire (catching newspaper or lightweight paper on fire), but though it works, I still prefer matches for that.Only thing I notice is that even if I’m careful not to get wax on it, eventually it develops a little buildup. If I notice it’s having a hard or weak time lighting, but still has plenty charge, I will spray it down with alcohol and give it a little scrub with either a tissue or cleaning brush, or both. That usually fixes any issues.I’m 50, so even though my hearing is still good, I don’t notice the sound issue. But my 25-year-old brother does, says it’s horrible. So yeah, if you have kids or dogs, maybe not the best choice for you.

Makes a dog whistle sound that drives my husband, kid, and dog nuts! I can barely hear it myself, but it makes me hesitant to use with guests.

I bought this electric lighter for my wife for Christmas. She previously had a cheap off-brand one that would not hold charge and was very difficult to light. This lighter is easy to use and holds charge for a long time. She uses it daily and is very pleased. Also, it's stylish and she loves the rose gold color.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I bought 6 months ago and lit maybe 30 candles with it. The charge ran out once and then it died completely. I did not even get as many lights with it as I would have with a normal candle lighter. This product seems well built and you'd think it would get at least a couple years, but it did not last.

It will light a candle. It will light paper or cardboard too, pretty effectively. But it's a royal pain to use. The button & lockout trigger are clumsy and only quasi-intuitive, and there's no way to bypass the safeties because they're electronic.Plus, it doesn't put out nearly as much heat as even a standard lighter, much less a torch lighter. I thought I'd be clever and use these for lighting fireworks this year, but that was an abject failure. This thing won't set off a sparkler, and the clumsy controls make it all but useless even for easy-to-light fuses.I like the tech. A fuel-free rechargeable lighter is a great idea, and this one could be a great product if it weren't for the kludgy controls.
