MerrillC-1000, R-6000 Hydrant Plunger Assembly A115

Tried to purchase from home depot. I purchased my hydraunt from them. Nothing worked. Thank you.

Exact fit/ Highly recommend to watch a short video first on You-Tube from Merrill on the C-1000 which tells the correct steps to replace it.By replacing the plunger it fixed my water leakage issue (from not shutting off in the ground which kept filling and draining the pipe) and the handle now moves MUCH easier after 30 years of being in service.

Stopped the leak in the yard hydrant. Looks like it will last awhile. I like the brass.

This worked great. I went to a Home Depot, Standard Plumbing, Ace and a specialty plumbing store and no one carried it. Should have checked Amazon first. Best thing to do is pull off your old plunger to make sure thus is a match but this fit my 3/4 inch outdoor hydrant perfectly. I think rusted metal had dropped down and scraped a channel into the old hardened rubber. My hydrant is about 10 years old. Got a couple pipe wrenches and twisted off the whole top hydrant lever fitting, pulled the rod out and then unscrewed the plunger. I wire brushed and painted the rod before putting everything back together. Screwed on the new plunger and put it all back together and everything is working great.

Worked well. I suggest using a little silicone grease on the plug. In my case the rod was 90% rusted through at the bottom end. I cut it off and welded a bolt to it. Works fine.

Sealed frost free hydrant back up. Screw off old one and screw back on new one.
