you can charge it up like a phone charger. this product supposed to last up to 10 hours after fully charge, i havent tried the full ten hours yet.

Is this loud enough for a rap performance in a garage?

My opinion is yes. We used it out in the sidewalk in a group of 100 and it was loud enough.
