Dansk Concerto Allegro Soup Bowl, Blue

First off, I purchased my dishes from Amazon. Why do people purchase an item from another site, only to post their "review" on Amazon? I ordered two place settings, and both arrived well-packaged without as much as a chip in any of the eight products. None were broken, cracked, grumpy or ill-tempered. (Must not make a comment about the histrionics posted in other reviews...) And, I really like these dishes. To me, they are reminiscent of classic diner plates, except for the coffee mug. I am not a fan of the mug and wasn't a fan when I saw it online. I really want a diner-style cup and saucer, but I knew what I was getting. FYI, I had the over-priced Brasserie stuff from Williams-Sonoma that I gave to my niece, and these Dansk dishes are far better at a much better price. Yes, I should be giving this place setting five stars, but I really am not bonding with the mug.

I purchased to replace a mug I chipped the handle on. They look identical but the new one is 9 oz versus the one I was replacing which was 10 oz. I could not find a 10 oz online, ozs were not shown on the mug I replaced. Side by side it’s hard to tell the difference. I’m happy with the new one.

I originally got these plates in 1999 when I was getting married. They have held up well. But I needed to replace some chipped plates so I ordered these. The color of the blue band is slightly lighter than the original. They are also thicker and the depth is different so they don't stack with old. Overall, the plate is great, especially if you are not trying to mix in with older ones. But it is frustrating to have them be different when they are the same brand and pattern. I will get used to the difference but the buyer should be aware that they are not a perfect replacement!

I love my Dansk blue and white dinnerware. It has nice heft, beautiful porcelain shine, and the blue is very crisp against the white (the blue band doesn't bleed like on some cheaper brands). I only give it four stars, however, because it does chip fairly easily. (Hence, this replacement plate!) With teens and tweens emptying the dishwasher, I end up with at least one broken plate every couple of months. Not inexpensive plates to replace, but I love them, so I do it!

If you are using these to replace plates from an older set, these plates are heavier and a bit thicker than the older ones. They weren't perfectly flat on the bottom either, but I kept them because I needed a few extra plates for my set.

I've been looking for these plates for a while, as I bought this Dansk pattern 30 years ago, or so, and my children had broken a lot of this small size. I was shocked to find them as an add-on deal for about what I paid for them all those years ago...too bad there was an 8 plate limit, or I would have bought more!

I love this dish. I only needed one to replace a missing dish but I wish I could afford to buy a whole set. It's very elegant so can easily be used for more formal dining and it's of high quality material. Very smooth and elegant as well as versatile for year round events.

I bought these dinner plates to fill some chipped/broken plates in our everyday china. They are first quality, but there is a slight difference in the shape of the back of the plate. This is only noticeable when you stack all the plates together and not at all noticeable when in use.

I wanted blue and white side plates for bread and butter to go with my blue and white Dansk dishes, but that pattern is discontinued. These are great, and the blues match just perfectly. We are using these almost every day. Great to serve cake slices, crackers and cheese, nibbles with drinks, as well as the aforementioned bread and butter.
