Classic photojournalism
David Burnett's journey in Iran in documenting the regime change provides a unique photographic perspective on a controversial subject. His portrayal of struggle, tragedy, death and triumph are a beautiful expression of images that represent an important milestone in Iran's turbulent history, especially in the last 35 years.Living in the U.S. as an American-Iranian, I was 9 years old when the revolution erupted. By reading many of the photo captions, I relived those dark days and enjoyed reading his eyewitness accounts. I highly recommend Burnett's book for anyone interested in classic news photojournalism. Just from the clarity of the black and white photographs, this book stands out as a must have for photographic enthusiasts.

Great photo book of a very important time
This is a great book about a time that was so pivotal for our times now. It was so confusing to me at the time. This volume with its magnificent photos cleared up a lot of gaps in my memory and knowledge about that Iranian crisis. It gave me a better grasp of the problems we are still facing in the middle east today.

Classic Photojournalism
Taken as a whole, this book is not only a remarkable documentation of the fall of Iran to radical Islam, but also an amazing example of classic photojournalism. When paging through the book, the reader will see how Burnett worked on a day by day basis to record history as it happened and to then dig deeper into the story as he gained a deeper understanding of events.

Wonderful portrayal of a very crucial time in history
This is a tribute to photojournalism at its best. This is when a photographer is allowed to be at a place longer than a few days to capture the entire story. Burnett's pictures are amazing and the story is also incredibly captivating. A must read for history and photography buffs
