3M 4298UV Adhesion Promoter - Tape Primer 4 fl oz / 118 ml Bottle with 0.750" x 0.312" Felt Tip Applicator

This product was recommended to me by an engineer friend who uses it in conjunction with 3d printed parts on smooth surfaces & parts that need to hold weight. For my application I had issues with 3M VHB double sided tape carrying a modest load (15 lbs or so) which would fall off randomly or last about 3-6 months. After cleaning the surface and priming with the promoter I can already see the difference in the strength of the bond.

this accelerator will turn elementary Elmers glue into super glue and it requires very little so it lasts a long time! I put quarter window louvers over my 2/4 windows on my Mustang. I put the scoop that goes down below that behind the door between the door and the trunk on both sides of the car and they give you the tape to apply to the product so that when you stick it to the vehicle, it makes a bond with the adhesion promoter. I’ve done 145 miles an hour and have never lost a piece of molding off of my car, buying the little packets that look like wet naps there are OK if you’re only doing a one time project they’re expensive but the bottle allows you to buy your 3M tape at your local auto parts store and you’ve already got the adhesion promoter and it works on more than just automotive grade plastics. if just one application is strong enough to hold molding all around my car. I’m sure it’ll do whatever job you need to do. Just don’t use it to hang wall mirrors in your bedroom. When you go to take the mirror down, you will rip down the paper and the drywall, it sticks that well I learned the hard way,

This stuff is absolutely necessary for tape on trim. Works awesome with the 3M tapes. I'm sure its quite toxic so wear gloves and use in ventilated area.

Good stuff! If you need it, then you know! Very functional, dries fast and is relatively easy to use. Much better value than buying individual pack but will dry out if you dont replace the seal under the cap due to the felt tip.

A must when you are using double sided tape. Just appy to any surface you are working with and it makes stick to the tape better. I used on automotive emblems and it worked great.

Whoa, this works. The comments online about this were mostly about vinyl wrap, but I needed it for decals and Eva Foam on a polyethylene boat (Hobie Cat, same material as a kayak). I did a test run before and after to see how it did. I'd say on a scale of 1-10, 1 being like packing tape adhesion , and 10 being permanent, The "without" stuck at about a level 4, the with, is an 8. I can still peel the EVA foam off, but it's not easy. Fantastic!

Use this in conjunction with two sided 3M emblem tape if you want unbelievably strong adhesion. It's expensive but well worth it. Be sure you place the object where you want it because it will be hard to remove.

Applied it to my existing 2 sided tape.. it seems to have gripped pretty good. I will test it when I was my 2019 Camaro and see if the window louvers stay on since adding this.

This primer works great. Used it now for many vinyl projects. An outside door, dirt bike graphics, vinyl bug guard. A little goes a long way. Can look like it discolours the substrate but it just has a bluish colour to it when applied.

Amazinggg stuff. A must if you're installing car parts with 3M Tape. Way better value than the single wipes.

Never used this product before took a chance. Won't go back I used to use a different promotor but it was in a can and was very hard to open after you used it a couple of times and it would dry up. This product works great is easy to apply is great and comfy in the hand.
