The hype is real
I'm not a total ramen snob, but having moved from a city with an abundance of amazing ramen shops to one without any left a noodle-shaped hole in my heart. I'm not quite dedicated enough to spend hours making my own from scratch, so I knew I'd need to find a good instant option. Oh boy, does this one live up to the hype.In each pack you get a brick of noodles and a soup base in paste form. No mysterious dehydrated veggie flakes here! AS I first squeezed the soup base into my pot of boiling water, I knew it was going to be good when I saw how fatty it was. The noodles are more substantial than your average pack and retain a good bite when cooked. The broth is creamy and rich with a good porky flavour. I did not find it to be fishy at all. Not quite as complex as a proper bowl in a restaurant, but it knocks the socks off of its instant competitors. This soup is good as-is, but with any instant ramen the key is adding your own ingredients. Some meat, a marinated soft-boiled egg, and some green onions, corn, and/or bamboo will really take it to the next level and round it out into a full meal.At over $2 a pop it may seem like too much, but I assure you - the quality WELL overshadows the price.

Delicious and worth it!
I grew up on plain powder chicken ramen, typical American junk. Now I'm just buying random Ramens to try and this one was a challenging new experience, but turned out to be an acquired taste that now I crave! the flavor pouch is actually just liquid for the pork bone broth version, which was unnerving when I was squeezing out the fat, but it makes total sense once you taste the smooth buttery broth! The noodles are fantastic. Waaaay better than the usual "****** Top Ramen"/Cup o soup stuff. they're chewy and smooth. Probably top 2 dried ramen noodles in my journey so far!TL:DR- YUM, buy this! The flavor is deep, but also mild/bland- no spice- really umami- great for adding flavors to, like green onion or meat! I would be buying TONS of these, but the price is a LITTLE up there for the size- yes, it's only about $4.80 per packet, but people like my roommate need 2 for a serving, which is a bit much.. Just something to keep in mind! (I think 1 packet meal is a good price!)

Nice noodles, weird soup
These noodles have a very nice consistency and “bite”. The soup, made for the Japanese market, has a rather unique flavor that took me a while to adjust to. The problem with this product is that it comes directly from Japan. By the time it arrives it has been beaten up and many of the noodles have broken.

Most Delicious Instant Ramen I've Had Yet!
Ok... CUTTING RIGHT TO THE CHASE. This is the best "instant" Ramen I have ever had. Hands down. I choose this Japanese version over the American version of this brand. So I'm not sure of the difference in taste between the two but THIS one I will order again for sure. I will also order the other flavors. Then maybe I'll try the American packaged version. I live in the north east US and getting great Ramen isn't a difficult thing actually. However, there are those times when I really want Ramen but I don't want to go out and get it, sit down and eat it in a loud environment etc. Or pay upwards of $13 to $15 for a bowl. I just want to sit in my place and watch some TV. This is a great substitute.I prepared mine like most other instant ramen. Bring 2 cups of water to a boil add noodles and time for 4 minutes. Immediately remove from heat. Then add the included ingredients which is just a packet of liquid based flavoring. I also chopped up some scallions. ***Do yourself a favor and learn how to PROPERLY make marinated "Shoyu Tamago" (Soy Sauce Eggs for Ramen or Bento). YouTube it. Ramen just isn't the same without this. (Check out my photo of my very first bowl of this). The broth is a light golden brown and very flavorful and complex. Not too oily, not too salty. Noodles, if cooked right, have a nice chew to them. Not eggy tasting. Not flat and limp like other 10 cent instant ramen brands. Just right. Will buy these again, next time will try to include some roasted pork or chicken. 2 THUMBS UP.

Strikingly different from American-style instant ramen
I agree with a previous reviewer that the noodles are the star of the soup. They have a surprising amount of flavor. Much thicker than American-style ramen, with an al dente chewiness that makes the ramen feel more like a meal on its own. The broth with this flavor is more complex than the name suggests. I wasn't aware until trying it, that it has a fish broth component as well, which thankfully does not overpower the pork bone flavor. The soy seems to be miso, which has less tang and a more potent umami flavor than soy sauce. There's also what tastes like sesame oil included in the packet that rounds out the flavor profile nicely. Like the packaging shows, with a boiled egg, some shallots, and chicken breast or a slice of pork, you'll have a well-rounded and filling bowl of ramen.

This delicious sauce is dripping all over my keyboard.
;ldakf;dalkajfhldalskjf nlasdknfasnf.,nmadsSorry, I set my bowl on the keyboard. My bad. That's how yummm it is. I can't get enough. And it should be! At almost $3 per bowl, this pack sits on the pedestals of luxury linguine.Absolutely worth it for the taste, but you might not want to make them your daily donburi.
