SINGER Stitch Gauge & Guide - Seam Measuring Tool for Machine Sewing

This really helps me with sewing in straight lines (I can’t for the life of me!) and I absolutely love it.My one problem is that the adhesive sticks to the removable sewing table on my machine (Singer Prélude) so if I remove the table to rewind the bobbin or to fix thread issues, it comes undone. Not much of a problem mostly just an annoyance.

I got this tool for my husband to use now that he is quilting along with me. He has a few older Singer sewing machines, and some had the 1/4 inch wore off. He especially loves to do HST's and was wondering how to do the scant on them. This little guide really helped, and he loves using it to go back and forth for whatever he is doing. Remember, this is only for Singer sewing machines and the older the better.

This is very important to know! The size of the hole for the needle is perfect and especially for low vision users. I have low vision and need an accurate guage ruler for accurate seams. I bought another ruler first and the hole for the needle was much too big so that the needle floated in the hole and has to be in the exact center of the hole to be an accurate quater inch. This needle gauge has the perfect size hole so the needle does not float around! This is super important for low vision. You can then use the sticky seam guide that comes with this or you can use a magnetic guide or you can use a screw on guide like I use as I have a vintage Singer 301a slant needle machine that has the screw holes for a guide. So again, this singer guage ruler is the best one for low vision and has the right size needle hole. I would definitely recommend it.

I was a bit disappointed in the quality if this product and it’s not easy to use. Takes a while to ensure the correct needle position. I purchased it so I could sew perfect 1/4” seams, but it’s not worth the time it takes. Also,a week after I purchased it. I saw it for sale at Hobby Lobby for 1/2 the price. I should’ve waited. I have noticed that a lot of items I have purchased on A ago can be found cheaper locally.

The seam gauge works great. It’s very handy. The seam guide moves around when I sew, so I am not using this. It seems like it sticks well, but it still has a little bit of back and forth movement and my seams were not right. I like the feel of the items - they remind me of some dominoes that I have.
