Every woodworker needs one.
I didn't know I needed this tool until I saw Paul Sellers using one. Now I don't think I could do without it. Great for removing lots of wood for shaping and then flipping it over to the fine side for a more finished surface. I have been using it for more than a year and can't detect any dulling of the rasping surface. Great tool.

Great quality
This is the best rasp that I have ever used in fifty years of woodworking. It is easy to use and very efficient. Great for many tasks. Quality is top notch. I wish that I had this years ago.

Best Horse Hoof Rasp!!
This is better than a hoof rasp to rasp horse hooves!!!You can rasp muddy feetIf your hands are small, this rasp is easier and lighter and more comfortable. And it lasts longer and is cheaper!!Highly recommended!!

Would recommend
I love this rasp! If you are a woodworker or just enjoy hand tools, this is definitely one to hang on the wall.It shaves fast and well. Comfortable to hold and use. And it has an aggressive side and a less aggressive side for awesome functionality.

Very good product at a decent price
Excellent rasp for soft wood or hard wood. I have used it on rock maple, cherry, and walnut with good results. Coarse and fine sides remove material quickly and don't clog easily.

Excellent tool, nothing else quite like it
This rasp removes material cleanly and quickly, so much more efficient than a traditional file for quickly sculpting wood.

Good option to try!
Bought this with the question in mind if it would work well for hooves, as it is made in similar style to a popular hoof rasp. Upon unpacking, the base of the rasp is a little flimsy as others said, but use straight strokes or wear gloves and brace with a couple fingers and no issues with bending sideways.Tried on my mini today. Very sharp and works very quickly. I thought the length would be right for her feet but truly I need to order an actual hoof rasp of this style which is about 4 inches longer. Overall I was able to very quickly accomplish a trim with this rasp. I could still rasp the foot away just as quick as using nippers. Very sharp so wear gloves for sure if doing hoof work.I know it doesn't matter if used for it's intended wood work, but for hoof work I decided to wet form a leather cap over the top just in case so it wouldn't jab if I slipped. But, never slipped. I will continue to use this rasp until I am able to save up for the real hoof one. Will likely keep it in my tool kit as an option for fine tuning work. This was a much cheaper way for me to find out if I would like this style rasp and the answer was yes!*Caveat : if you aren't used to handling SHARP rasps, you may feel the inclination to push down hard as you stroke. You should not have to push hard with any rasp if it is sharp, just a light pressure. If you have the habit of pressing down hard, you are too accustomed to dull tools. Pressing down hard with a sharp rasp will make it not perform well and you will get "stuck" in your stroke.

Great purchase. I should have purchased on of these years ago for woodworking. Coarse on one side, fine(er) on the other. Highly recommend.
