A must read!
The book gives insight to the emotions and thoughts that most veterans experience after and during deployment. SGT Eggen did his fellow veterans justice by telling his story. Semper Fi

Incredible idea to portray what combat and being a veteran is like. Must read for vets and civilians.

Worth the read.
This book is good. I am not the best judge of poetry but I know what I enjoy and I enjoyed this book. As a fellow Post 9/11 veteran it helped me understand those feelings. Do not be shy to read this book just because you may not have served during the same time as Justin Eggen.

Enthralling collective of poems and true stories
As an Afghanistan veteran and Marine I was extremely impressed with the word play and personal anecdotes Eggen depicts in this book. The poetry is raw and you can tell he wrote some of these while deployed. The stories he shares about his time overseas are short but intriguing and left me wanting more. I still pick up Outside The Wire from time to time and read over a few of my favorite poems. Highly recommend this and look forward to his next book.
