Great chairs!
I loved them so much I got 2, both arrived quickly and were a cinch to put together. The boxes smelled bad but it did not linger on the chairs. Mine came with black wheels and rolls smoothly. I'm very happy with my puchases.

Beware! It's not what you think you're getting!
Aftermarket parts that don't work is just the start of it.1. First thing we noticed when we were bring the box inside was the awful odor. When we opened the box it about knocked us over. We put the pieces on the porch to let it air out for an hour or so. We assumed the odor would dissipate, like maybe it was paint or something from the refurbishment, so we assembled it.2. Assembly was very difficult and took a long time because of aftermarket parts.3. The arms did not work, nor did the tilt, so we called Herman Miller customer service (since the listing says there's a 12 year warranty) to see if they could help us with the operation because we could not reach this seller. The first thing we found out is that there is no warranty from Herman Miller on this chair. Their customer service lady chuckled that we believed it, but she helped us anyway.4. Turns out the seller did not send the fully adjustable arms we paid for, and the ones they sent did not fit properly and the ease of movement was AWFUL! It took two people to adjust the height of the arms. One person had to hold the chair while the other worked to maneuver the height. This is because the arms they send are not Herman Miller but a cheap brand retrofitted. They work very poorly.5. Tension and tilt adjuster knobs very difficult to operate. They worked only if you were out of the chair and had another person hold the chair. Same problem, after market renovations.6. When the chair was assembled, it was a weird fit, I had to hold my arms way away from my body to get my elbows and forearms on the arm rests, so I asked the customer service person from Herman Miller about it. She had us measure the different parts of the chair, and explained to us that the seller sent us the wrong sized chair; we ordered a small (size A) and received a large (size C).7. The smell came from the fabric on the back and seat, which was also very likely aftermarket. It sounds crazy to belabor the smell but it was AWFUL. We went to bed the night we got it and when we came downstairs the next morning, our entire downstairs smelled like that awful odor from the chair. You could never sit in it and work because of the smell. I have no idea how long it would have taken to wear off.8. Reviews - I was so shocked that this was such a disaster that I went back and looked at the reviews. I never buy things like this with poor reviews, so I couldn't imagine I missed it. When I really looked, the reviews at the top were all good, but they were from like 2009! Obviously, this company has changed hands! The more recent reviews are not good. I could not figure out how to sort these reviews showing the most recent ones first, like you usually can. So I posted my review and looked for it. It's way down at the bottom, even beneath the other one star reviews. So if you're reading this, good for you for doing your due-diligence. You will be very disappointed if you think you're getting a real Herman Miller chair here. It is a really awful chair and it was a really awful experience. Beware and go elsewhere for your chair!8. We requested a return, which the seller approved, but sent us a return label that made us pay to ship it back! Difficult return because it's an independent seller. This seller gives a phone number and email, but it is not operational.9.

Comfortable, good for back, sturdy, and quiet
Posture Fit vs. LumbarGot this one (with posture fit) for my home office. I have an identical one with lumbar support at my work office. I like to feel the support on my back. I feel the lumbar more than the posture fit. BUT, the lumbar support is felt all across the lower back, while posture fit is designed to keep your spine straight. I came across a report from a study comparing lumbar vs. posture fit using 80+ participants. The study found that posture fit improved their spine in most cases on most measurements. I am generally skeptical of studies like these, but after using posture fit for a couple of weeks I don't get that numb feeling in my back after sitting for a long time. So I like it more than lumbar. The caveat seems to be - you need to push your butt as far as you can against the back of the chair (the proper way of sitting). If you tend to sit on your lower back with your butt on the rim of the chair - no lumbar or posture fit will help you. It is not too hard to correct the posture, but it's definitely a conscious effort. Just an FYI.Construction of the ChairThe chair is very sturdy and quiet when turn around, etc. You can definitely tell that it's top quality. Should last a very long time based on the feel of it and the history of Aerons. It has the standard Aeron adjustment features. Its mesh material is simply the best that I've tried. It's not cuddly like leather, but feels good and airs well, so you never have a sweaty back, etc.My ConclusionI honestly don't know how an office chair can get any better for my requirements: comfortable, good for back, sturdy, and quiet. The only thing that could improve it is a massager of the back (ok, I am kidding). Got it for $660 in "used - like new" condition. Perfect for the price.

Herman Miller Aeron Quality?
I'm glad the arms of my chair are still attached because they wobble left and right, up and down, and forward and back as there're not really "attached" to the chair more like just sitting loosely in a slot flopping around. I can see where there might be a hidden adjustment inside the chair so that the arm tightening clamp would work but the clamp goes from floppy loose to floppy loose. I might just epoxy the arms tight. Ridiculous in a chair this expensive. The seat bottom tension needs +50 rotations before it started to tension up but after several minutes of tightening it became a bit more firm. I would have expected about five turns. The wheels are the cheapest plastic ones possible so you'll want to replace those with quality ones if you want to protect the floor. This chair should have come with outstanding wheels from the factory at this price. The PostureFit assembly does require you to cut a hole in the back mesh. The sheet of instructions doesn't indicate that but there are on-line videos that showed the process.Just cpompletely disappointed with the manufacturing quality. I have Herman Miller chairs at work and they are not this poorly made. Would not recommend purchasing. I have doubts this chair will last one year in use.
