MEA MAXIMA CULPA->I sent the Seller a nasty note when I first received it. Auwe!! King is a knave!
I've used this almost every day now since I got it. The handle turned out to be wood, but very durable. It looks like cheap plastic. I live in a remote area of Hawaii and have to cut tree-like tropical alfalfa, 14 foot tall cane grass that is thick as my pinky and desmodium vines & xxxx;---hard to write that without a cuss word prefix. That is to mention some of the tougher pests. 50 cc plus brush cutters with after-market cutterheads sputter and stop every few minutes.I made some modifications to it. I drilled another hole and put in a heavy screw to reinforce where the blade is attached to the handle. I wrapped "gorilla" brand duct tape around the joint where the business end meets the handle. I wrapped the same tape at the bottom of the handle. I put the tape on mostly to prevent it from flying out of my hand. Even though the handle is grooved, it kept slipping out and nearly killing anyone nearby. One tip is (like almost every tool) to sharpen it every time it gets a little dull and to sharpen and oil it before you quit. When this baby is sharp, it is the grim reaper of all things under an inch in diameter. It has proven to handle the rocks I frequently, accidentally hit without even the pointy tip getting deformed. It is pretty darned easy to sharpen I use a regular sharpening file, one of those sharpeners they advertise here and a diamond sharpener that has a coarse side and a fine side.If the manufacturer is reading this, my modifications make a great tool, superb.Up-date 12/31/20I used this for about 9 or 10 more times. Even with my modifications the darn handle broke in mid chop on some cane grass, nothing really hard. See the pictures.I have included another product that I bought in September 2018 and have used hundreds of times more and it is in perfect condition.I try to take good care of my tools but the handle is incredibly flimsy over time. Let the proof be in the pictures.

Acceptable quality-in the blade
The handle is a very low quality, light weight wood. it would not take much effort to damage or break. The blade is well enough made to cut low density materials such as grasses, weeds, small diameter (1/4") saplings. If the handle were made of a more sturdy wood, I would have more confidence in the overall durability of the tool. Light work only.

A little wiggle
There is a little play in the connection. I’ll update if it causes a problem or somehow unsafe
