GREAT TOOOTHPASTE
I have used Tom's toothpaste for over thirty years, particularly the fennel flavored, as it NOT minty, a taste I cannot stand. In those years, I have had no cavities, and my dentist says I have the gums of a 17-yeard old - which I am not. No fancy "enamel builders" or sensitivity approach, just good toothpaste.

Wonderful stuff - I love the taste and how it leave my mouth feeling clean!
I originally started using Tom's of Maine toothpaste because I could no longer use brands like Crest, Aim, and Colgate due to the sugar content, being diabetic. Even a little in the toothpaste is too much for me, even with artificial sweeteners. I bought the Fennel flavor by accident a while ago, but really liked how it tasted, so have tried to stick with this variety since. It's a little like licorice, but with a spicy kick; and cooling flavor/taste, due to the Xylitol, which obliterates any nasty sugar buildup, yeast, or staining, leaving your mouth feeling cleaned and like you've just eaten a cinnamon red hot. It's hard to find in any store but Whole Foods, and now that we've moved, there's no store close to us. So I was very pleased to find 2 for about $12.00 - that's very close to the $5.00 apiece I would pay at Whole Foods. The Cinammon flavor of Propolis & Myrrrh isn't bad, either; but that's another product review for another time.

Mint-Free
I really don't like a strong mint flavor -- especially not at the strength of normal toothpaste. This toothpaste tastes mildly of fennel. Fennel, by the way, is similar to licorice -- to the same degree that lemons, oranges, and tangerines all have a similar flavor.I really like this toothpaste because once you spit it out, the flavor is gone -- unlike mint toothpaste that leaves your mouth throbbing with mint long after you brushed your teeth.

Obviously the most important point - no fluoride!
If you just can't face "Minty-fresh" first thing in the morning... you need to try this!! Obviously the most important point is that your toothpaste is not contaminated with fluoride! But immediately following that is the clean, smooth feeling of your teeth, without a strong lingering flavor that messes up that first wonderful sip of your custom blended coffee!!

Tasty toothpaste
Product for brushing teeth- naturally, if you like the taste of Black licorice , you should enjoy this as FENNEL tastes almost identical. I would have given it 5 STARS for ALL CATEGORIES, however you can find other TOM’s toothpastes @ diffeent lower prices

it's the bull in the marketplace
i'd really like to say that this is the best toothpaste for the dollar on the market right now. But there's a huge problem in saying just this. And it has something to do with how that came to be. You see, Tom's of Maine was the new kid, and soon the market bully, pushing the competitive better brands, like Nature's Gate, off the shelves. TOM went after all the shelf space they could buy out in the brick-and-mortar stores. So one of the first things they did, after mimicking Nature's Gate, was to reduce the size of the tube twice now. And soon a third time... it's in the works. I don't like the ethics of this company AT ALL. but it's a good tooth paste. and i tried YES and i tried NO .. but there it is -- with the fennel and no fluoride. .. Basically copying Nature's Gate toothpaste.

on chemotherapy
While on chemotherapy I got sores in my mouth (side effect) and I could not brush my teeth with anything that had mint in it because it caused my mouth to feel like it was burning. The only toothpaste that I could use was Tom"s Fennel toothpaste. I used to get it at the Trader Joe's near me but then they stopped carrying it so I was very happy that I could still get it from Amazon!!

Best toothpaste. My daughter is allergic to mint and ...
Best toothpaste. My daughter is allergic to mint and Tom's of maine is the only company that has mint-free toothpaste that isn't cinnamon. This is one of our favorite flavors. It leaves you feeling fresh and clean but in a way that is very different to the way mint burns. Even I stopped using mint toothpaste after trying this and I am not allergic and I (used to) love mint. It is not drying like mint, doesn't burn like mint, leaves you feeling clean and fresh unlike cinnamon. If you like this one there are a few other flavors you can try. Hands down the best toothpaste. They have ones with fluoride too and we tried those, but we like this one since it doesn't change the way food tastes right after using it, which is what fluoride does. So brush your teeth and grab that apple. I promise it wouldn't taste weird.
