Jeremy Lin's Testimony
Artistically, I'd say the documentary wasn't particularly spectacular. It wasn't a badly made one either but I wouldn't give a lot of credit to it being extraordinarily made. But, it tells the story of Jeremy Lin and I think that's what makes this watchable and recommendable. I saw two aspects of this story...the one about an Asian American NBA basketball player who fought against the odds and the story of a man who continues to submit his life to God whether in success or failure...The story is told through the career beginnings of Jeremy Lin starting in high school. It feels very succinct but I believe it hits all the right high points of what made Jeremy Lin, the Jeremy Lin today. He is a child of an immigrant couple, who was born and raised in northern California. His parents raised three boys and their focus was clearly on ensuring that their children knew what is the most important in life - putting God first. This is so clearly shown in the story of Jeremy Lin and even with all the success and glory as [one of the very few] Asian American NBA players, he gives all glory to God...and I believe this film really gives glory to God. I walked away from the movie reminded of how God orchestrates our lives for His glory when we humbly submit to him. It's an obvious fact but it made me think about how even in NBA, God works! In addition to this, I was also convicted of the hard-work Jeremy Lin puts into his work everyday whether rain or shine. I think we're all guilty of saying that we want to live for God but not willing to put in the work. In the movie, Lin's coaches made repeated comments about how hard he practices. God deserves our best.I have little knowledge of NBA or being an Asian American but I really am very proud of Jeremy Lin as an Asian living in America and as a sister in Christ. Will be praying for you brutha! ;)

The Only Documentary I Own
This is the only documentary I personally own. That's saying something.Linsanity is the (progressing) story of Jeremy Lin, an Asian American pro basketball who currently plays for the Houston Rockets (at the time of this review, anyway). His story is one of faith, endurance, pain, patience, and humility.Probably my favorite thing about the movie is the emphasis on faith and hardship. Jeremy didn't just make it into the big leagues. He had to work his butt off in the process--and still does. He was a high-school basketball star, but the only college that accepted him was Harvard--and that was because of academics. On the college court, Jeremy Lin lead men's basketball at Harvard bringing the team from an athletic laughingstock to a legitimate contender. At the NBA Draft, he was undrafted--no team wanted him enough to risk a pick. When the Golden State Warriors finally did pick him up, Jeremy hardly played--and sent to the D-League three times. Over the summer he worked incredibly hard to improve, only to be dropped before the season started. The story has a happy ending, don't get me wrong. But the path to that happy ending is a brutal one. And I can relate, because I know I'll have similar experiences in life.Jeremy had to learn to keep his focus on Jesus. He had to learn to be humble, and follow wherever God brought him. To Jeremy, his career became more than just about basketball. God became the center. The heat and pressure, though painful, helped purify his faith. As a young Christian, stories like these excite, motivate, and resonate with me. I know I can hold onto and keep them with me, even as I grow older, because they deal with things elements of life that everyone goes through--including me. It's a pick me up when I'm feeling down, and an awesome reminder of what life is really about when I need it. And so, Linsanity, at the time of this review, is the only documentary I own. And it's one I'll keep for a very long time.

A Story about Basketball, a story about Life.
This starts as any basketball story would, the dream of a young boy and also the enduring struggles that follows as he embarks on a professional career to become an NBA player. Through hard work and fate, Lin ends up at the right place and the right time not a moment too early and not a moment too late. Christmas day at Madison Square Garden, with one last chance to ball or forever have his dreams crush, he lays it all on the court playing inspired basketball. What ensues is Linsanity. I thought the documentary was moving and very well done. It really peels back the curtain and by the end you feel as if you were also on the same emotional rollercoaster of a journey that Jeremy went on. Highly highly recommend!!

Game Changer
Jeremy Lin is a basketball progigy and genius. Unfortunately because he did not fit the usual sterotypical basketball player, he is playing for his team in China. This country needs to look within itself and stop judging people by race. Jeremy was a fantastic player for the Knicks. The NBA owes him an apology. I wish him the best. Why people have to fit a mold in America is a question I still do nat have an answer for. Jeremy was playing for love of the game. I never heard him mention money. That's rare. Amaxon Prime: Thnk you for introducing me to this basketball phenomenon. Jeremy is the best!

Disappointing
This movie is a documentary. It is not a story, unless a lengthy list of facts and accomplishments constitutes a story. While the main character is an inspiring young man and has overcome all kinds of obstacles to become a phenomenal success--and yet remained a humble, likeable human being, I wouldn't care to watch it again. I was expecting something more, I guess. To a basketball buff, this might be engaging but to the novice, it is not terribly engaging.

Fascinating
Reasonably made documentary about a fascinating story. A very skilled, Asian basketball player overcomes discrimination and stereotyping and embraces his last chance opportunity moment with the Knicks to become an overnight media sensation and NBA star (current salary over $8 million). Hopefully, he can meet his next career challenge on a weaker Lakers team lead by a declining Kobe Bryant.
