Not New, Not in package, No Instruction, NOT EVEN CLOSE to picture or Item Details.Received MUDDY, Used, and honestly filthy product.AND it’s the WRONG product!!!Does not even have cut out for canteen cup handles as shown in picture.They couldn’t even wash the wrong product before they shipped it? It’s just here you go, we don’t care at all. Disgusting all the way around.Edit: So I have to say, I made a call right after this, and left a message. They called back on Saturday. He opened up with “the buying option I chose stated it was ‘used, acceptable’ “ and he did this not aggressively or rude, but more like it’s happened before.I explained “ fair enough but it’s not even the one in photo, seems more like a generation earlier, and it will not nest with the cup”He asked the best question possible and in a concerned voice “what can I do to fix this for you?”He checked and had the right one like the photo, and said “it’s used, is that ok, or would you like a refund?”I chuckled saying “soap and water work just fine” he laughed too.Simply put, no one could ask for better customer service than this. The tone of conversation from Surplusworld was genuinely about me and making things right.To be fair, I should pay attention to my buying options and what I chose, Used, Acceptable. They were honest about it, my mistake.You won’t be disappointed with these people.

This stand isn't a type of canteen pot holder where the cup or pot sits on top to cook. Rather this holds your canteen or pot snugly and this lets the canteen/pot sit inside it to boil water or soup, make coffee, etc. Which is imo better than the canteen stove that just sits a pot or canteen on top of it and then the wind knocks it over or your legs nocks it over and then what your cooking is wasted.I'd recommend using Esbit cooking cubes with this or Instafire with dry twigs. The vents on the sides let in the air freely and feed the fire. This is extremely lightweight and holds my Rothco canteen pot very well. I'd recommend this over the canteen stoves that I've mentioned before. I live on the plains of the USA and here the high wind and gusts can knock over a canteen pot easily at any time of year. Unless you know how to build a windbreak even then this is your best bet. Great for a bug out bag or camping and hiking. Highly recommend!!

It was bent completly out of shape when it got to me. I tried to bend it back to get it to fit onto a canteen cup, but that did not work. I just got it stuck half way on the canteen cup and could not get it off.

This works only with the old style cup with the solid steel handle. It does not work with the wire style cup handle. Buyer beware. This fact is not revealed in the product description. It needs to be.
