No comparison to this other brand I compared it to
I first bought this coco months ago. I've never baught coco before this .. I used it for soil mixes. Added some to my worms bin and Yada Yada.. when it was gone I ordered viagro 11 pound bricks from my local box store. I did this to try and save a few $.Right off the bat .. once hydrated I noticed a huge difference. The viagro had a very earthy smell and was so much darker. I also let some dry out to see if it was buffered. It was not.I've noticed buffered coco can have a white film when dried from buffering with calcium.. . Another difference was when you fluff Nutrifield your hands don't get dirty. You get small bits of coco on them but not dirt. You can rub the coco off with your hands and your hands are cleaner than before fluffing..The viagro is like playing in dirt. Very dirty hands that need to be washed after.. .Just for fun I washed the viagro. The water was black. Not only that but there was a TON of sand in it. If you wash the NF the water isn't clear but is not opaque.. . Its tinged yellow brown. With absolutely no sand in it.. the biggest difference to me is the smell and feel of the coco. NF. is fluffier better quality coco that they wash and buffer.. They dont just say they wash it they wash it. They don't just say they buffer it they buffer it.. Not only that. It really is a reasonable price for the added work they do to sell a superior product.. . I think I "saved" 15 dollars on 2 big bricks going with viagro. Really I lost money because I'm not using it and bought another 2 bricks from Nutrifield.. . Nutrifield is proof that you can get a great coco for reasonable price. You don't have to spend $50 for a bag like some other name brands. You can get high quality from a brick. You just have to get it from Nutrifield

Game-Changer for Growing: Sustainable, Versatile, and Perfect for Healthy Plants!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using the Coco Coir Brick Organic Coconut Coir for my grow setups, and I’m thrilled with the results. These compressed bricks are compact, easy to store, and expand significantly when rehydrated. Here’s a detailed breakdown with tips and tricks to help you get the most out of this amazing product.First Impressions:The product arrived well-packaged, with three 850g bricks that are lightweight and easy to handle. Each brick rehydrates into a soft, fluffy medium with excellent texture and water retention. I immediately noticed the low EC, meaning it has minimal salt content, making it safe for plants right out of the box.Rehydration Tips:Warm Water for Quick Expansion:Place one brick in a 5-gallon bucket and add about 1.5-2.5 gallons of warm water. Warm water helps the coir break apart faster and ensures even rehydration.Let it sit for 10-15 minutes, then fluff it up with your hands or a small garden tool. It breaks right up.Adjust Water Amounts for Specific Uses:For container gardening, fully hydrate the brick to get the fluffiest, most aerated texture. For hydroponics or seed starting, use a bit less water to maintain slight firmness, as it retains moisture better.Pro Tip – Buffering the Coir:Even though this product is pre-buffered, I always take an extra step for my plants:Soak in Cal-Mag Solution: Mix 5-10ml of Cal-Mag per gallon of water and soak the rehydrated coir for 6-12 hours. This prevents calcium and magnesium deficiencies, which coco coir can sometimes cause.Rinse Thoroughly: After soaking, rinse the coir with clean water to remove excess salts. This ensures a perfect growing medium for even the most sensitive plants.Mixing for Optimal Results:I find the best results come when coco coir is combined with:30% Perlite: Enhances drainage and prevents overwatering.10% Compost or Worm Castings: Adds natural nutrients and beneficial microbes.Optional Additives: A touch of biochar for pH stability or vermiculite for added water retention. This mix works exceptionally well for all types of plants, from vegetables to herbs, and even cannabis. Why This Product Stands Out:Sustainable and Organic: Made from renewable coconut husks and free from harmful chemicals, making it eco-friendly.Low EC: Ready to use with minimal salt interference.Excellent Water Retention and Drainage: Perfect for plants that need consistent hydration without becoming waterlogged.Versatile Applications: I’ve used it for seedlings, hydroponics, container gardening, and even as a soil conditioner in outdoor beds.Storage and Maintenance Tips:Unused Coir: If you don’t use all the rehydrated coir, let it dry completely and store it in an airtight container to prevent mold or pests.Long-Term Use: Reuse the coir by flushing it thoroughly between plant cycles to remove any buildup of salts or nutrients. Results:Since switching to these coco coir bricks, my plants have shown better root development, faster growth, and healthier foliage. The difference is noticeable, especially compared to soil-based mediums. If you’re looking for an affordable, sustainable, and high-quality growing medium, this product is a must-have. Highly recommended for beginners and experienced growers alike! This is my honest and non paid review of this product and the benefits you can add to your grow with this product.

Base of any good spikes medium.
Item came early and was packaged tightly wrapped. I’ve used this product in the past and it is of good quality. The EC and Ph seem as though they are pre buffered. I rinse and buffer anyway just to be safe. The price of seeds today there’s no room for error. I’ve never purchase this product from this vendor before this, as of what I see I will order again soon.

Used for plant starting
Used these for plant starting, and it worked great. I had a great success rate and the moisture retention really helped, I think. I love how they come compact and then expand. It was super easy to use with the accompanying bags. Would definitely recommend!

Works Well But Very Thirsty
It took me 2 gallons of distilled water to dissolve one brick. I used it as an ingredient in making my growing medium. I prepped it and fertilized it. Everything I put into my medium responded well to it. It has a fine texture and is very light. I probably should have soaked it in hot water and rinsed it because I have a feeling it has a lot of salt from the dehydration method used to solidify it. If I didn’t mix it with another medium I probably would.Update June 13, 2024I uploaded what I have grown and harvested indoors with this medium. Kale and lettuce
