FIT TO HELP YOUR FITNESS
The GT2E is not over-large nor heavy, so you can fit it on your wrist and forget it is there. I like the way you can customise the watch faces to show what you want to see. Tip: Download the manual from Huawei before your unpack the box because you'll never get going without it. Confusingly you have to install TWO apps on your smart phone to get the GT2E to work. You'll only get a version of the Health App that pairs with the GT2E once you've also downloaded the Huawei App Store - even though you'll probably never use that instead of Google PlayStore. Ideally have your Smartphone with you at all times, and if you already use something like Google Fit the two apps can talk to each other (by bluetooth) and share data. I'm only using my GT2E fairly simply to track walks and Gym exercises, but it soon becomes quite easy to fire up the correct app and get it working. The Outdoor Walk turns on the GPS and it grabs a satellite very quickly. When you finish your exercise it syncs to the Health App on your smartphone in seconds without you doing anything. My Polar Watch had an app on my desktop PC and that was better to view your data than looking at the tiny screen on my smartphone for the GT2E. Maybe there is a PC version of the Health App, but I haven't found it yet, and I am reluctant to install too much Huawei stuff and expose myself to the Chinese hackers. It took nearly a week to become comfortable with the GT2E, but now I like it a lot. It can vibrate your wrist to give you messages, or to alert you to a call or a TXT on your phone and is quite good a showing you your message text. I think you can answer a phone call using the GT2E but you will need Earpods to listen to sound and to act as a microphone; easier to pick up your smartphone. You can also load music onto the GT2E, but again you'll need earpods, so you might as well use your smartphone for that. Battery life is excellent, I think 4-days is easy, but if you don't use GPS exercises it'll probably last longer. I bought the Aimtel Charger Dock and this is great to hang your GT2E on and let it charge - easy to pack when travelling too. So the watch is great, the instructions in the box useless, and Health App needs to be better

It's also an MP3 player. :D
Bought this watch mostly because the combo of strap and watch face type that I really wanted just doesn't exist anymore.I got the Lava Red, though I am looking into getting a better strap. The TPU strap it comes with is nice, but I am just not a fan of the type of fastening it has.As a person who hasn't worn a watch in almost 15 years, I can say, I have truly missed the feeling of looking at my arm for the time. I mean, how did I manage before? Now, I get to see my heart rate, watch's battery life, weather, time, steps and calories. How could I ever go back to a normal boring watch, or no watch at all. Oh, and it tracks sleep, now I have no excuse for not knowing how long (or little) I slept. :DIt also tracks stress, but I don't quite get the numbering all too well. I was 61 yesterday. I didn't feel stressed.I especially love being able to connect Bluetooth headphones to this with so little effort. And use my watch as an MP3 player, which is truly wonderful. This was one of the features that got me to buy it. :DI reduced the faces I like to Clear, Power and Gallery, though I prefer Clear. (It just displays all the info I like)You can also access a many number of other features, including a compass, which can come in quite handy. And of course it has a timer and stopwatch as well as an alarm. I've only had it 24hrs and I already love it. So worth every penny. The charging plate that comes with it. I hooked a QI wireless charging adapter to it, and now no more cables. :DNow setting it up and to start using it. Once it's paired to the Huawei Health app, you literally don't need to do anything, except turn on or off the features you like or don't. It's so simple, even a boomer could do it.The only downside is, copying music to the watch. It does this over Bluetooth, I love Bluetooth, but it's not something I would transfer music over or anything for that matter. It takes about 40s to transfer a single MP3 track of average size.Says it can store up to 500 songs, which is great in itself, but I believe it's internal storage is just over 2GB. It shows how much is left when copying music to it. *You do this from your phone, within the Huawei Health app*I think you can get Huawei Health on iTunes and it is in the Google App store too.Would I recommend this smart watch? Absolutely yes. It's wonderful.I would however advise getting a screen protector for the watch face. It does not come with any sort of screen protector when you buy it. If you're like me and worried those tiny bumps and knocks are going to scratch up that beautiful clear screen.Update, 11 months later.I've bumped this on literally everything, placed it face down on tiles and have yet to see a single scratch. Screen protectors are kind of a waste of money, the screen is not flat, the edges are at an angle, so screen protectors do not stay on, they can randomly peel off when you least expect it.After almost a year of having heart rate, steps, weather and sleep tracking on all the time, the battery is now showing some wear, it's about half as good as it was. I've turned off heart rate, I spent way too much time staring at it.I got a nicer strap now, took a few before I found one that suits me. Got a velcro fabric strap back in November.I got to test the waterproof back in August, I was out for a bike ride, got completely soaked, watch was working perfectly, my phone however, was dialling random numbers. Turns out, a smartphone can mistake rain drops for finger taps. Weird right?I'm tempted to buy another just in case this one ever dies, got my money's worth out of it, no regrets. I would still recommend it and have several times.
