More Alt-history from a great group of authors!
Even better than Those in Peril! What happens when you get a group of authors who also fly together? You get very immersive stories that put you in the cockpit! If you’re an alt-history or military fiction fan, you’ll enjoy this one.

An excellent anthology
I enjoy anthologies quite a bit, and this one did not let me down. Thrilling stories from various eras of military aviation captivate while you have a chance to meet new authors or revisit those you know.

great read
Cracked this book as soon as I got it in the house. Ten hours later I had read the first 14 short stories and read the last three the next morning. I will be ordering the other Phases.

Uneven
Like all anthologies some stories were very good and some were very mediocre. Sadly you have to take the bad with the good.

What a treat to read!
If you are interested in alternative history, then you are in luck with this collection of stories involving aviation. Usually with collections like these, you get a few clunkers but none in this book. I hate to share too much because that would give the twist or point of divergence away with the stories but the great thing about them is that you can believe they could have happened. Even though they never happened, they have the taste of reality.

good stories
I bought this because of Taylor Andsersons story but enjoyed most of the others as well. Going to have to check into Monalisa Foster more.

The alternative history of air combat!
The collection features air combat stories from WWI to a hypothetical WWIII all with one question? “What if things turned out differently?” Historical events, places and people are rendered with enough clarity and depths that you feel like your;e back there in history, even it it's a history that never actually happened. There's no shortage of action either with gripping and desperate battles though the clouds.

Four stars.
Few good stories, too many I just wanted to scroll thru. "Salvage title" is good story . Five more . If I just pick them at random off of the "suggested word"....

Very good
A fine mix of stories and authors. Excellent stories and characters. In my mind, collections of this type are vital to attracting new readers.

Wets The Apotite For More
I enjoy stories of air combat. Some great authors team up for first class action telling. The problem is that these stories need to be turned in to books. Jan Niemczyk for example. Others already have series out and I'll be following up on them. Alternate history is a genre where what if can be explored and is only limited by the author's imagination. I'll be looking forward to the next entry in this series.

A collection of alternate history short stories focused on military aviation
Overall I enjoyed this book though I have to say that I felt that not every story in it was of a uniformly high standard. That being said, the vast majority of them are good and those by Richard Fox, William Alan Webb and Jan Niemczyk stand out as being very good indeed. There is a wide diversity in styles of writing and in the eras covered by the stories. If you are a fan of military aviation, alternate history or both you won't regret buying it.
