Athlon OpticsArgos HD 20-60x85 Spotting Scope - Straight, Green/Black

I bought this product to use for long-distance shooting, specifically I'm going to try to use a camera and the scope to spot my shots. I have not been able to try that out yet, but I have taken the scope out to use it. For the money this seems to be an excellent scope in my opinion. The scope is well-made and is heavy duty. In an inexpensive scope, I would rather have it seem heavy duty rather than built out of plastic. The glass is clear and provides and undistorted image. Years ago I had a 15 to 45 power scope that was around $300. On that scope I thought the 45 power could not be used, The glass had too much distortion and then along with atmospheric effects, you really couldn't see much detail at 45x. The 60 power on this scope does seem usable. Obviously, atmosphere conditions are going to play a major role in how much detail you can see at that magnification. The scope also comes with a neoprene cover that you can leave on while the scope is mounted. Mind you, the neoprene cover is not gonna protect the scope from any big impacts. Anyhow, for the money I think that this scope is a good buy.Edit: I thought I should add, around the furthest edges, there is distortion in the view. However, it is not bad and I did NOT notice it until I looked specifically for it. From my understanding, only really expensive scopes have no distortion on the outermost edge of the image. But again for the cost, I think this is an excellent spotting scope.

Got this scope few days ago and finally spent some time behind it on my range. This product is a beast...it feels heavy in a good way. It totally surpised me by the overall quality of the product as it feels and touches like over a 1000 buck product. flipped the product 90 degrees on tripod and looked through it for my targets...it made it so much easier, I just turned my head away from my cheekpad on my rifle and then there I can see my shots really clear. Cannot wait to try their fixed 22 power eyepiece with mil reticle in it. It will be awesome to tell how many mills off a long range target by just looking through the spotter. Athlon, Keep up for the great work! Awesome product for the money. can not beat it!!!

Very good scope. At 300 yards you can really see details of what your focused on. For the money it’s an outstanding product and it comes with a life time warranty.

This scope is a good value for the price. Eye relief is so-so and there is some chromatic aberration but on the whole good optics. Will be good at the range and for wildlife/bird watching, etc.

This is a great spotting scope for the person who cannot tell the difference in the various manufactures. For what I want, spotting at the range, basic star gazing, hunting and all around being able to see something far away, this is a great scope. I save about $150 over what I was originally going to buy and so far, I can't tell the difference other than the money I saved.

This scope has very clear optics for the money. I had purchased a bushnell trophy spotting scope before this one. It didnt gather light very well and was blurry especially @ anything over 20x zoom.This one is a totally different story. Very clear, even at 60x zoom. And it gathers a lot of light.I purchased this for spotting deer, it will work great.

The scope is nice, but it’s missing the soft case and cleaning cloth. Will be a 5 star if I can get these items without having to do a return and replace.

I sold my Vortex spotting scope which was almost identical. I will say this...the Athalon scope is as good. My only complaint (and also with vortex) is higher power is lacking clarity.
