Dense, but worth working through. A valuable interpretation of a work by Kant that is not usually covered by English-language commentators, at least not in depth. Yet Kant's Metaphysical Foundations of Natural Science is essential for a rounded view of Kant, that is, one that goes beyond seeing him just as an answer to Hume or a predecessor of German idealism. But neither Kant's work nor Friedman's book is for the faint-hearted.
