What a superb purchase!!!! I was a bit dubious about ordering a £500 bench unseen but I am absolutely thrilled by the quality of it! Its certified sustainable teak (Indonesian), really solid and very, very sturdy. The arms are really chunky and beautifully turned/engineered to a smooth finish. A proper piece of craftmanship. Its 180cm long (4 seats) but I principally use it for reclining on (hence the B&M cushions). Seat pads for a big bench like this are not easy to find; I bought a sun lounger replacement pad (delightfully exactly 180 cm and 50 wide like the bench) which fits like a charm. Now I have 4 seats for dinner, an enviable sun bed and an elegant piece of furniture that will last for years and years.Amazon sell a 4 seat bench cover for around £10 so easy to leave the cushions on it overnight if covered. I've been tempted by those fake rattan lounge sets for the garden but having acquired this bench I am VERY thankful that people still make and sell natural products of such high quality. Easy to assemble (knocking in dowels with a wood friendly hammer or mallet).I honestly wasn't expecting to be this delighted.Next time I need teak garden furniture I wont look any further than Brackenstyle.

I was very pleased to find this bench is a lot more substantial and sturdy than I expected. All parts fit well so that the dowels supplied fit exactly. The instructions don't explain where to use the wood screws supplied but closer examination of the assembled bench reveals the screw holes. 2 screws go into the wooden brackets under the front rail. The remaining 4 screws hold the seat (2 each end).

The only let downs were the fittings and packaging. £375 and the wood screws were rusty, so I went and bought brass fittings. For a product exposed to the elements, fittings should be non-ferrous.The dowel pins were not sturdy enough and 4 of them collapsed as they were driven into the pre-drilled holes. I had use a chisel to gently removed the splayed, split ends of the dowels.The cardboard bax it arrived in was damaged in 4 places. It needed corner protectors or a stronger box. I was surprised the bench was not damaged when I opened the packaging.Great product overall but schoolboy errors that need correcting.3 coats of teak oil and it looks beautiful.

Bench is very heavy and sturdy. All friends who have seen it have commented that it looks very high quality. It is considerably heavier than previous bench I bought. With my previous teak bench I allowed it to age over time which gives a more worn, rustic appearance. I decided that my new bench looked so nice quality that this time I would apply a coat of oil. This really brought out the quality of the timber and I would recommend a coat of oil. I used Danish oil as teak oil was sold out and it worked perfectly. Now the downside...a couple of the mortice joints appeared to be just out of position - not drastically so but just enough to need a little sanding - and quite a lot of persuasion - to force home. Probably would have been easier with an extra pair of hands - but I did complete myself in about an hour and a quarter. (Thought it was going to be 10 minutes until I reached the rather tight fitting joints). Overall worth the effort - finished bench looks great.

Fantastic bench; beautiful wood, heavy and solid. I would strongly advise buying the suggested teak oil giving the bench protection and a beautiful colour

Purchased this Garden Bench, as I now have time to enjoy the sunshine. The bench arrived quickly and well packaged. First used teak oil on all the components, and left to dry over night. All components fitted well with wooden dowels. Some holes needed easing as a little tight. Contacted supplier ref some cracks in arm section, prompt reply and was assured all was OK. Many compliments received by passers by. Very happy and I reccomend it.

A dear friend of ours died and we wanted a bench to dedicate to him and the Bracken Style 4 seater is perfect it’s looks sturdy and fit for the job, my wife and I took 30 minutes to assemble the 5 parts then inserted the dowels and screws job done. I would most certainly buy another bench in the future from the supplier.
