Pretty Smart

This is a classic 80s mischievous comedy about two rebellious girls at a private school. Tons of laughs.

It was the summer of '86 and I was traveling through Europe. While exploring Athens, I made friends with some people involved with the film. They needed extras for the movie, which was being filmed outside of Athens, Greece.The movie isn't very good, but it has it's funny parts, and it's a lot better than some of the real bombs from the 80's. It's interesting to see Patricia Arquette in her first(?) film.If you ever watched Fantasy Island or Love Boat, you'll probably recognize Dennis Cole in this film.Enjoy!

The best line in this movie, where the Zoe character says "We are thinking about having her spayed". This was when the boys and girls were playing tennis has been edited out of this copy of the movie. Would have been four stars otherwise. Mindless, teen flick from out of my past, is still fun and watching Patricia Arquette in this one you could tell that she was destined to be in better movies. If it ever comes out on DVD properly edited I will grab it.

when we tried to play this it didn't register as a disc. So odd. we checked - thinking it was a zone issue. no. ended up working on one of our computers, and no where else. It doesn't say DVD+R or DVD-R or another DVD-Rom format so this has me a bit baffled. We were able to watch it, which is what matters, but something is definitely odd here

I didn't expect 4k but wow the quality was horrible & audio was out of synch, only issue was with this one, nothing else so it's not my device or connection!! Amazon, stop labelling stuff 4k or HD when it's worse than Beta! smh.

Why aren't these older movies being released on DVD??

As eighty movies go... this was definitely one of the best. It did not get the attention of say the Ally Sheedy, Andrew McCartey, and Molly Ringwald movies of the day did. But it had a fun, sleepover spirit to it. It was sexy and dark and weird and interesting all at once. I wish this flick was released on DVD. One of the things I remember most about this movie was Patricia Arquette in her early days, her role was small but I couldn't help thinking she had something special. I recommend this to anyone who wants to have a good time watching an good-old fashioned teen angst flick. It has laughs but also has kind of a dark twist to it seeing as how the boarding school is doubling as a front for a drug-runner and he's been filming all of the girls kinky adventures for his own amusement. This is an interesting movie and I'd recommmend it to anyone who loves movies ...and can appreciate the campy fun that comes with watching a movie made in the eighties.

Would be great if it had subtitles or other languages on the DVD - but it was Okay

I did not/ could not watch the whole thing. I was expecting possibly a slightly quirky 80s teen film (perhaps in the vein of Desperately Seeking Susan), bought on the strength of this being an early film for Patricia Arquette - what I got was obviously trying to be funny, but so badly written and very unfunny, boob fest for sleazy middleaged men (teen boys will probably like this, but it is an 18 - not saying they didn't get to watch it, but how could it be aimed at them?).Rebellious girl trying to look cool and be 'bad' - very Madonna circa 1984 crossed with a bit of Goth, some very horrible music and some hideous hair! Needless to say, some dreadful wooden acting and an appalling script/ plot.And for some reason it is set in a private school on a Greek island where everyone is either American or Swedish!AVOID AVOID AVOID
