Beatrix Bakes Hardcover – Illustrated, 5 Mar. 2020

I generally think I'm a good baker, and that I have fairly good knowledge. But this book has upped my game massively. It has been my favourite lockdown read so far, and coupled with a lot of feedback from the author on people's instagram posts, I have learnt so much. Every direction has been good. AND there are lots of tips about how to adapt recipes if fruits are out of season or you prefer a different type of finish. It's great.

Made many of the recipes in this book now and they always come out amazing. (Be mindful some ingredients aren’t available in the UK; however, I’ve always been able to find a suitable substitute.)

Fantastic book! Very well written, instructions are clear and easy to follow. There is a general section around techniques and each recipe has adaptix (love it), measurements in metrics and beautiful photography. I have baked approx half of the recipes and every single one turned out 100%. Sour cream cheesecake and potato brioche buns are my favourite so far!

Beautiful book and beautiful recipes

Lovely looking book, but I found it to be overly technical, which took away some enjoyment. Not great for lockdown baking either as most recipes use an enormous amount of eggs and large quantities of other ingredients. My biggest problem is that the recipes in this book are difficult to scale down for home cooking.

Love the recipes and the adaptions provided. Different from a lot of cookbooks out there. Looking forward to this authors new cookbook.

I have made the Cheesecake thrice now .....only to determine whether it's the recipe or me and I still don't know! I baked if too little the first time and it was a runny mess, doubled the baking time the second and third time and it did set but was still super creamy and I think I wanted more texture still. It's also too short. i added chocolate to the sour cream topping and that was a great decision.

The book has some recipes that are not in your everyday books . Tried and tested! Very happy!
