The Light of Dawn: Daily Readings from the Holy Qur'an

I often read a page of two of this after I pray. The verses are inspirational and beautifully translated in English. This is a good book for someone who doesn't want to just recite Qur'an without understanding or who gets bogged down when working with the whole thing instead of selections, as well as someone who isn't interested in the verses that are like inheritance laws, etc.This is also very appropriate for non-Muslims wanting a taste of Islam's scripture.

I love this book and have taken to reading it throught out the day during Ramadan. The translations are really inspiring and I have taged many pages for study so far.

This book is an excellent source of spiritual inspiration and for non-Muslims it's a great way to become acquainted with their teachings and beliefs.

This book is written very well. Goes into a lot of explanation regarding the transliteration process. I am enjoying studying and reading it.

This is a beautiful collection of Koranic teachings without the parts that never resonated with me.

Fantastic book! Camille makes the Qur’an in English much more approachable than other interpreters. She brings the heart of revelation out in the open. Wonderful read

While I believe God's words can easily stand alone, I was disappointed that the author did not do more in this book than list the English meaning of her favorite Ayat (verses), organized by Sura (chapter).If you are looking for a daily devotional book this will not be of much more use than a small paperback edition of the Qura'n. In fact, I think that would be a better investment.I do like the verses that Helminski selected - I just do not like the format.

This was my first attempt to read the Quran. It is a good introduction as it takes bite sized portions which have been selected by the translator. I also liked that the translator is from the Mevlana Sufi tradition as I think this influences the way she translates the text.
