My dad's been coaching for years, & played rugby for years when he was younger. He's always telling us crazy stories with his team when he traveled. His birthday is on the 24th and I really needed to find a great quick gift. My dad lovessss food and cooking and he cooks up stuff like this all the time, so this cook book really couldn't get any better. It came super fast too, right on time. He is going to LOVE this!

This book is for any household with hungry athletes! Full of satisfying stick-to-their-ribs meals like Beef and Stout Stew and Dead Good Chocolate Cake. After your sports fan (be they rugby, soccer, football or baseball) is done talking about the game they'll talk about this food!

I stopped playing rugby 27 years ago, but I still eat three meals a day, so this book works for me. If you have a rugby player in your life, this is the gift for them. That bottle of whiskey you usually buy doesn't last a week. The Hooligan's Table will last a lifetime.

I really loved this book. The recipes are terrific - Shepherd's Pie, especially. What I liked even more was getting an inside peek at the world of rugby. I've known several rugby players and found it fascinating to read some of the traditions, attitudes and behavior shared seemingly by rugby players the world over. The Hooligan's Table is refreshingly direct, funny, and yes, even charming. I highly recommend it.

A real gem! Finally , a real man's cookbook. I had so much fun reading and learning about rugby that I almost forgot that it actually was a cookbook. I tried a few of these easy crowd pleasing meals with great success . I also bought a few copies for gifts, a great gift idea for that graduate who will cooking for a bunch of his mates. Great fun, well done, David Martin!

Un ouvrage en langue anglaise (américain) amusant et très intéressant sur la culture "Ovalie Gastronomique "avec toutes les recettes; il y a même le cassoulet toulousain. Bref pour peu qu'on connaissance l'anglais on voit des recettes de pubs fréquentés par les rugbymen. Des leçons de vie. Pour le reste comme je l'ai dit ouvrage américain, donc le vendeur , même en Europe, pourra ne pas l'avoir en stock ( pour moi cela a généré un délai de livraison de 20 jours alors que vendeur en Angleterre)... Attention à bien comparer les prix sur le "Marketplace", parfois neuf ça varie d'une dizaine d'euros.

Interesting book. I was looking more towards catering for whole rugby teams, much of these recipes are quite hard to do that with but there are also many really good ideas in here for the same purpose and others that are great for smaller events.
