The Survivors log also contains drawings, post cards, aptitude tests of the members of kilo squad, and even the Cole Train's rookie card! These little extras seem to have been shipped right out of the gears universe. The book is meant to look and feel like Baird's Field notebook and the blood and coffee stains on some of the pages really makes it seem believable. Most of the entries are Baird writing to his parents postmortem but as sad as that may seem the entries are full of Baird's odd since of humor and are really fun to read. Baird covers everything from his first few weeks enlisted, basic training, the first time he met Cole, Sofia, and Paduk, the battle of Halvo Bay and of coarse the trial of Kilo squad. I always thought that of all the characters in Gears of War, Baird was the one we knew the least about. The Kilo squad Survivor's Log is a really neat look at Baird's story and adds a lot to Gears of War judgment.. Review: Highly recommend this book if your a gears fan or just love video games! - I love this book!! it gives Damon Baird's account(who is my favorite gear), about his time when he was a lieutenant in the gears before he meet and teamed up with Marcus and Dom. It also gives account about his team known as Kylo squad and goes into the depth about each member including on how and when Baird first met Cole. It was a great read!!!

It's awesome but there's a problem with amazon
I'm happy that Amazon suggested this to me when I'm around. Looked it up, but I don't have a problem with the buyer. I have a problem with Amazon. When you look up the word graphic novels. You're expecting a long comic buck but no, they never give me that they give me everything around it and I have to find. It in this thing called an app so I can look up exactly what I want. Can you please? Fix it anyway thank you for the book and it was amazing

The gears that grind.
Currently gobbling up anything gears related at the moment. Some goofs on eBay want astronomical sums of cheddar for the original comics. They can kick rocks, this book is great for any gear heads.

Great product
Honestly I was surprised with how great the quality was and the amount a detail that was there I honestly thought I was reading something written by the characters

Love it
Great for Damion Baird fans and gears of war fans. I love to get behind the game content and know the full story, especially in the words of the lovely, sparky, mechanic.

This is a wonderful addition to your Gears library. It shows the character of Baird in a very different light and if you didn't like him before, you will change your mind after reading this. The story of Judgment is told through the eyes of someone who was there, which gives it much more weight and meaning. Baird's unique perspective on reluctantly becoming a soldier and evolving as one is fascinating to understand. Pay special attention to the letter he writes to his mother. The art is stunning and complements everything you already know about GoW. I really loved this book.

Say what you will about Gears of War: Judgment, it did give us an idea of what things were like in that first harrowing month after Emergence. And this well-written, beautifully put together companion book gives the whole thing more depth. It takes the form of a slightly unconventional 'War Journal' written from the perspective of Kilo Squad's (rather temporary) leader, and my personal favourite Gearsverse character, Damon S. Baird. I can hear you groan and go "Oh no, not him again!", but Baird is a different man from the snarky, antisocial (but very smart) Gear we're familiar with from the first three games. The intelligence is still present, but he's quite a bit younger, a great deal less cynical (you try fighting a war for fourteen years and see what it does to your personality), a lot nicer, and seems almost naïve. The background detail is what really helps this book to shine. Attachments pasted to the pages of the journal range from a bank note and a sweet packet right up to Baird's father's death certificate and Cole's collectible Thrashball card. Even some of Baird's studies of the Locust make it in there. All in all, I'd recommend this book for anyone who likes Gears of War (unless of course you didn't like Judgment), and I'd *highly* recommend it to any fellow Baird fans out there.
