I did some research and ended up purchasing this module. After reading that someone burned up their copter I was very hesitant to plug this in, but went for it. This unit worked PERFECTLY as described and I haven't had a bit of bad luck with it yet. The APM cables are very long and the connectors are tight. The clear shrink wrap around the module is thick and provided a lot of protection. The only think I don't like about this, is the fact that I need it which isn't a draw back from the unit. I am using it on a DIY Hexa Copter with APM 2.8. I WILL purchase this product again. It allows you to power the APM, as well as monitor battery voltage and current usage. You could feed the 5v from the ESC to the servo rail to power as well I think (and most do as a matter of redundancy). However a filtering capacitor and voltage limiting diode may be required (they were with my Pixhawk).I use one of these power modules for my 6S batts, and keep a spare power module on hand. They're cheap, so why not.over 20 flight hours logged so far and no issues with this power module. **Q: Will this work with Pixhawk Board 2.4.8?** A: Yes, it will work with the Pixhawk 2.4.8 Board. That's actually what this reviewer uses. **Q: Will this work with APM 2.8?** A: Yes. **Q: How is this holding up for everyone?
