KOHLER K-37050-2BZ Alteo 18-Inch Metal Bathroom Towel Bar, Oil Rubbed Bronze

The Alteo series is very sleek and attractive. The 18" bar fit right where we needed it, in a space where a 24" bar would be too long. I'd definitely go with the 24" for general towel-hanging duties. It comes with lots of screws and anchors for attaching to tile, drywall or studs. Where possible, I tried to attach to studs. A cardboard template comes with each box, and I simply cut the mounting holes with a hole-punch, then used a level on the edge of the template before marking the screw holes with a pencil. I installed five bars (including a tp dispenser), and the template(s) never failed. It's not a heavy-duty bar, but the mounts are solid and tighten to the mounting plate with a small allen wrench that comes with package.

This towel bar was the perfect replacement for the old 18-inch towel bar in my new home that had a bit of a dated look. The bar comes with all of the mounting hardware you need, including wall anchors if you aren't screwing into studs. It was easy to install using my existing towel bar's anchors because the screws that came with this towel bar were the same size.You screw brackets onto the wall, then slide the ends of the towel bar onto the brackets and tighten hidden screws underneath using the included Allen tool. That's it.This is a nice towel bar for giving your bathroom a new look.

This line of towel bars is great (except the toiler paper holder), very sleek and stylish!edited 9 months later: OMG, this is so frustrating! I bought these for my entire house because I love the look! I put the plates in the walls with anchors. I hung the rings and they're lovely! But about every 3 months you have to tighten the little bolt on the underside because it loosens. The trouble is, the little bolt is recessed WAY inside the towel ring! You can't see it, you stick the little allen wrench in and feel around but it's so far in it's a crap-shoot whether you'll find it. So now, 9 months after buying and installing, it's loose again and I have been poking at it to try to tighten it but can't get the little bolt. I'm thinking my only recourse will be to pry it off the wall, take it apart, reputty the wall, reinstall the plate and put it on again. The little bolt thing should be right at the surface! There's no reason it has to be so far inside. I wish I could return these, they're more trouble than they're worth!

I bought this to match the other 'Alteo' series items in my freshly remodeled bathroom. I like that I can get everything from shower diverter to towel rail and TP holder that all match. As with all Kohler stuff, its high quality and the instructions and supplied hardware equally good. A template is supplied for install with the seemingly obvious but very handy reminder "check this template fits your piece before using" printed on it. I have fallen for that before. The hidden mounting brackets are very solid, over some good adjustability and secure rail very well. Personally, I used E-Z Anchor self drilling anchors in place of the supplied conventional plugs but that comes from sometimes bitter experience with cheap supplied anchors. (NOTE: I have had good success with the 'Triple Grip' type drywall anchors, expand very well)In summary, well designed, great hidden brackets, simple to install and quality hardware. What more can want ?

Nice match to both the Kohler Alteo and Willammette faucets--we chose the models for their simple, elegant lines--not too modern for our traditional style home.Installation is easy, whether you mount to a stud in the wall or a hollow-wall anchor. Too soon to report on finish durability.Functionally, something I never really encountered was the narrow diameter of the towel bar and how it affects holding towels. The bar is just over 1/2" in diameter. Though seemingly common today, this is smaller than the traditional square towel bar and offered minimal friction to towels hung over the bar. If the towel is not reasonably centered when folded over the bar, the imbalance in weight can easily let the towel slide off the bar. A rougher surface might help reduce this tendency.

I wasn't sure if these would work because they model in Home Desperate was badly broken. However, they have held up nice so far. I mean I wouldn't try to stand on them, but the rounded edges actually improve the load handling. They helped save space in our very small bathroom because the rounded edges allow you to brush by them without drawing blood. I also overlapped them slightly (one higher than the other) to reduce footprint further and add style. I like it!

This towel bar looks good in our bathroom and was easy to install. I bought the SnapSkru drywall anchors below based on recommendations since the ones it comes with are kind of flimsy. I think it was overkill because those things are huge, but at least now I know if I want to hang a second towel bar over a doorway I can use it as a pull-up bar. We remodeled our bathrooms and replaced builder-grade towel bars with these beautiful ones and I love the look. They come with very strong anchors and I don't have to worry about them being pulled off the walls.

Great Looks. I've purchased it to match the rest of the Alteo Kohler line, which I found much cheaper here than at big improvements stores.It came well protected. The finish is stunning and installation instructions straight forward.We couldn't be more happier. Will be ordering the 24inch bar as well once in stock.
