So happy I got this
I ordered this webcam because my laptop doesn't have one built into it. It never was a problem because I used my phone. But with all the ZOOMing and conference calls we are doing I felt it would be a good investment to make. I'm very pleased. I used it for the first time this evening for a video call and I was so happy with how the video looked and I don't think I had any audio problems at all..It really is so simple to use. Just plug it into your USB port on your computer and then it automatically installs the driver. I was worried because I didn't see any icon or file for it and I was afraid that my computer didn't register it or something. However you don't need to worry. I went into my ZOOM meeting and it immediately started on it's own when I joined. This is lightweight and can even stand on its own or you can hang it over the top of your screen. My only wish is that I'd love it if it was wireless

Not worth the investment
The camera took forever to get from China (nearly 40 days) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it's obvious that the seller is taking advantage of a situation where many people are working remotely or communicating with loved ones via online services. Ultimately, this camera is garbage. If this were 2019, this camera wouldn't be worth $30, but because of the shortage of available webcams, this company is selling this piece of trash for $50 and probably making a killing. The picture quality is grainy at best, even at the highest resolution. The build is somewhat solid, but like most rip-off versions of popular camera, the camera does not provide the picture or audio quality that is advertises. My recommendation would be to hold out for a Logitech 920c and save yourself the trouble of owning this useless paperweight.

After a long journey
On the downside, it did take 30 days to arrive and the original tracking number only tracked through customs. After that, I had to depend on the USPS for tracking.Very pleased with the camera. Our church community is meeting via Zoom. My laptop has a camera, but I wanted something with a sharper focus and would bring the image a lot closer. I also wanted to use it for video broadcasting an occasional Mass.I was wanting to mount it on a tripod. It doesn't have a direct way to mount it... but with a little thought, I was able to come up with an alternate way (velcro). Keep in mind I am somewhat of an amateur when it comes to webcams so someone who videoes professionally may rate it differently. Still, I'm not the least bit disappointed. It was a simple plug-and-play installation.Overall, the item is a marked improvement over the camera and microphone on my laptop. One key difference is that there is a lot more light in the video than with just the laptop. The improved audio allows us to cantor and to be understood.

Does what you need, nothing more
I'm not going to drop the stars due to the late arrival (Took nearly a month to actually show up!). However, I will drop the stars for some issues with it.First, the camera itself is not the greatest quality. It's not awful, but if it's supposed to be 1080p, it's like 1080p from a decade ago. It's not terrible by any means, but it definitely looks like my 2009 HD TV and not one from 2020.Second, no lights. One review said it has lights, but there's not even a spot for lights to be, so I have no clue what they are talking about or if they were rating the same product. But there's no light to tell you it's on, which makes me uncomfortable, and not even that basic "put a little light on your face" light that you want to have so you don't look like you live in the darkest room ever.Third, as far as I've been able to tell, there is no way to adjust it's focus. It's "auto focus," but the problem is that it with some apps/programs it puts your face WAY too close.Fourth, the microphone is only meh. It picks up a LOT of background noise. For example, I was using it with just a small heater fan and my computer running in the background, but it sounded like I had a giant fan in the background. Not so bad as to people not being able to hear me, but definitely not "noise cancelling" like it claims. So why, if I'm complaining so much, am I still giving it 4 stars? Because for $50, it does exactly what I need it to do: it lets me be on a video call. If I was a professional streamer or something, these issues would be deal breakers. But if you are just needing a camera for Zoom calls or the like, then there's really nothing wrong with all the things I said. Quality? Not a big deal if you're just needing to be present (better than a lot of people in my meetings). Light? Unplug it when not in use, get a light in the room if you need it. Focus? My friends can look at my giant forehead! Or I can just back up a bit if I'm not needing to type. or just move it around. Microphone? Use a headset if you really need to be heard (better for hearing other people anyway. So yeah, for $50, not a bad buy.Just be prepared to wait for a month to get it...

Not the best.
I bought this one based on reviews that no longer appear on Amazon. There were no instructions; Plug and play. Picture quality is okay, somewhat grainy, but sound and picture don't match up on video chatting (there is a delay) or recording, only in playback do they match up. There is hissing in the sound, but acceptable. It took a very long time in shipping to get this item. I ordered blue and got black. I consider it to be like the speaker system I got once, turned out to be a fake but was acceptable; so a learning experience. Next time I'll go with a recognizable name brand, not one that seems German, but is really Chinese.
