I had a razer naga molten edition before which lasted me a good 4 years
I ordered this mouse due to a recommendation from a friend. I had a razer naga molten edition before which lasted me a good 4 years. I wanted something that didn't have a ridiculous amount of buttons as I found myself not playing MMO's as much. The Diamondback has great chroma software for controlling the lighting, customization of the 4 sidebuttons (or really any of the buttons). I do wish however that some of the modes such as breathing or reactive would allow you to select more than 2 colors, but hey it's still really cool to look at and honestly at some point it doesn't matter because I'm looking at my screen, not my hand when completing tasks or playing the occasional game if I have time. The mouse feels great in the hand, although it did take an adjustment period as the Naga has rather large right contour that my hands had become used to over the years; so at first it was a little ostentatious for my middle, ring, and pinkie finger placement and I would press the right sided buttons without meaning to a bit often. However, this went away after my hands adjusted from the Naga set-up I've been used to. Overall this mouse turned out perfect after about an hour or two of use so that my hands could be used to the slick and lightweight design (the naga was pretty dang heavy). I think for my hand style grip, claw it fits like a glove. Other's have stated that the older diamondback had a rubber ring that helped with their grip (I've never used the older iterations), and that the grip material is rather low to the bottom of the mouse causing some to have their thumbs or other fingers drag against the mousepad or their movement surface. Hasn't happened for me, but I can see that happening for other people who have different hand grip styles.Overall I like the lighting even if it is only a wow factor initially (haven't touched the software since disabling the right side buttons and setting up my colors). The design to me is pretty great and it gets a 5/5 as I really didn't have a problem with the grip, more so a problem with being trained to grip the awkward (for me) Razer Naga. I would recommend this to my friends....if they actually gamed on the computer.

8 years strong
I had it for 8 years of moderate use and with many moves and setups, it's still going strong. I'm now upgrading to wireless to clean my setup a bit and will be passing this device to a friend who recently got into PC gaming. But I will certainly be sticking with Razer peripherals from now on.

Just go buy it. Awesome sale price on an awesome device.
I absolutely love this mouse. I have been waiting for a sale before I purchased. The lighting on this matches perfectly with the new Razer Chroma Ornata keyboard, which I also recommend strongly. The brilliant lighting can be controlled through the free download Chroma configurator program. If you already have a Chroma keyboard, this will recognize and add the mouse section to your existing configurator program. This lets you TOTALLY customize the lights on this mouse. The lights are broken down into approximately 25 small sections all around the perimeter, each totally customizable, as well as the scroll wheel and the logo. There are also the standard presets for lighting such as static color, breathing, fire, wave, and reactive. You can also sync the settings between keyboard and mouse.Physically it is a very comfortable mouse. It has a studded scroll wheel for a nice grip. Also there are 2 small extra thumb buttons on each side of the mouse. These are very small and thin, but have a distinctive "click" when pressed.Overall I would recommend this not just because of the uber cool lighting effects, but because it seems to be a quality product, with premium packaging and presentation, Also accompanied by software which looks great and works great. It is an encompassing experience Razer has provided. I will be purchasing a headset next, so another review to come.

Great mouse, very bright colors, ergonomics suffer a little.
It's the return of Razer's most iconic mouse: the Diamondback / Copperhead.Essential Details: it is small, very light, glides very smoothly, good for both claw and palm grips. The good: very precise and very smooth, cost has gone down significantly from initial release, the chroma lighting is very crisp and the software makes it easy to play around with. The lighting is really a step above most other mice I have used (Razer, SteelSeries, Logitech, etc) Very bright but without being too much in a dark room (can be adjusted via software too) and the options in the software are enough to keep most tinkerers happy.DPI count is more than anybody will need even with a massive mouse pad and a 4K monitor.I have the definition of medium size hands, and this guy fits my hand very well. I am a claw grip user and this is quite comfortable for me, except for the thumb placement that goes on an edge of the mouse (soft edge, but still over time brings discomfort). This is a large positive in my eye as I cannot use most SteelSeries or Logitech mices because of their shape and how it cramps my hand up. I was very distraught when my Copperhead died, and the only mouse I was able to use without hand pains, was the Razer Taipan, which I have had for years. I bought this on some nostalgia, and am very happy that I did.The bad:No on-board memory, thus button and chroma settings are profile based. This means that when the PC boots, the mouse is in a factory defaulted state, which means either no lighting at all or the default (which is a bit too eclectic). The worse is that you cannot just pick this guy up and relocate it to another PC with your settings on it. You will have to download the program and sync your profile. Not terrible, but a step back from the Copperhead and most other Razer mice. The ergonomics of the original mouse were not amazing as far as thumb placement, and neither are they here. There is a rubber side so not to slide, but it hardly is relevant because the mouse side is angled inside, so you really are resting your thumb on the edge this slant creates. This is not bad for grip but after hours your thumb will start to have a small crease due to it. I assume that if you use this for an 8h work day or even 4h gaming session, it would become a bit uncomfortable.
