My umbrella hat
I really just kind of bought this as a joke to surprise my boyfriend with a laugh. BUT I did end up unironically using it one day working in my yard on a 95 degree day. It really protected me from the sun. Was a little embarrassing when the power guy came to work on the power line and could see me from his ladder. I thought I’d be safe in my backyard lol.Anyway if you use this for real, it can’t be windy. It will blow off your head. The hat part isn’t super comfortable but I’ll wear a thin cap underneath and then it’s fine. You have to really adjust your depth perception, otherwise you’re running into things. And just remember that you’re wearing it because it kept touching my back and I kept freaking out thinking it was a bug. The drawstring tightener thing broke or fell off but I was able to find a replacement easily.Overall this product is ridiculous in the best way. It’s hilarious. It actually does have some practical value despite its flaws. And it also gave me one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken. Just look at how happy I am wearing my umbrella hat.

Great idea. Works great for anytime you need both hands and want to be protected from the Sun or Rain.
I originally bought this product as I thought it was something funny to wear but realized this thing is great. I guess it is marketed for gardening but I can see it being used for anything where you need sun or rain protection and need both of your hands free. I've used this multiple times for different reasons. My daughter plays fastpitch softball and I recently bought a nice DSLR camera to take pictures. I've used this umbrella hat to block the sun as well as the rain and it does a great job with both. I initially brought it to the fields as a way to block the sun but during one of our tournaments it started to lightly rain. Not enough to delay the game but enough where I didn't want my camera to get wet. This thing sticks out far enough to block the rain from getting on my Camera as well as my long lens. Also took this camping and it was great when I went fishing in the rain. Kept the rain off of my upper body.As for the quality of the umbrella hat it is great. Very easy to expand and fold up and is very small. The part that goes on your head auto adjusts and fits both my head and my 6 year old son's head very comfortably. The strap to put around your chin is necessary if there is any wind. But with the strap on I had no issues with it blowing off. Of course I wouldn't wear it in very strong winds.

It's an umbrella for crying out loud and will try and take off like a kite in the wind if you do
Wow! Talk about a dorky looking hat! If you are concerned about fashion DO NOT BUY THIS HAT!! However - if you want to keep the hot sun off of you while working out in the garden - fishing - or anywhere else that you need relief from both sunburn and heat? Get one. They're cheap and do the job very well. I wear mine out in the garden on hundred degree days when shade of any kind can be a life saver. The cost is so reasonable that I sent one as a gift to a close friend of mine who also works in her garden regularly. She loves it!Downside: the elastic hatband barely fits my average size seven head. If your head is much larger than that it will likely not fit. This is also not a hat you're going to want to wear in any kind of wind. It's an umbrella for crying out loud and will try and take off like a kite in the wind if you do.

Works much better than I expected!
So far at least.I push carts at a local supermarket, so I bought this in the hopes that it could help me stay dry on the rainier days, while staying cooler than I'd be in rain gear.I've only used it once so far, and it's exceeded my expectations! It goes without saying that this does have its flaws...Pros:-provides excellent protection against the sun and rain.-is big enough to provide protection to my entire body-opening/closing is pretty simple once you understand it.Cons:-the construction of the umbrella is such that there are these sort of slits in it. My best guess is that these are for airflow, but if it rains hard enough, rain could easily find its way through these slits.-it, like regular umbrellas, isn't very good in high wind conditions. While it hasn't broken or anything, it has almost flown off my head. And one more thing; the headband and neck strap. As people have likely pointed out, the head band can be pretty uncomfortable. I personally don't have too much of an issue here, as I could tell they actually tried to make it as comfortable as they could without sacrificing functionality. The neck strap can be a bit strange to work with, but it's fine overall. As a whole, I like it. Sure, it may not be perfect for everything, but it's great for my needs! If you find yourself needing an umbrella hat, I'd definitely recommend this one.

Adjustable is a lie
Out of the package might fit people with large heads. For me it's WAY too big. It is not adjustable in any way. At all. It's so loose that even an experiment inside in still air, it moves all around on my head with the slightest movement and the forehead strap will slide down over my eyes. The only thing keeping it on my head is the chin tie. For the price I will make it work with safety pins or something, but I bothered doing a review over the false assertion that it is adjustable. If it had been adjustable in ANY way at all, even if it was still too big, I would not have bothered doing a review.I have been using it despite that outside while watering, holding it with my hand, and I do like it otherwise.
