I believe cast. It worked great on my co2 laser

Light glossy. Great for surface and diffuser if necessary. Hope this helps.

Can this be used for a square tower lamp? How much heat can it with stand before it loses structural integrity?

Good question, sorry I don’t really know the answer myself. Looking around online, I see that acrylic plastic is said to soften at around 200 degrees F, melt at around 400 F. If that’s correct, I would think it would cover almost any usual lamp situation, especially if you’re using LEDs (which of course create less heat). Also, the seller here is fairly knowledgeable. If you ask them specifically via Amazon they should be able to tell you just how far this plastic handles high temperatures.

Is this easy to cut? If yes, what tool would work best? Needed for outdoor lantern light.

As all acrylics is harder to cut than wood (or plywood). I used a small saw (with small teeth) and it worked very well. Just be patient and do it carefully
