The materials used in this water filter are top quality ensuring that the product lasts longer while filtering away most of the impurities that give water a strange odor and taste. This water filter will also prolong the life of your refrigerator. It was designed to lessen the sediment deposits in your refrigerators ice machine. With every filtering layer that the water goes through, the pores of the filters become smaller, so as to get rid of even the most minute particles or impurities in water. It does not remove minerals which may be beneficial to health such as fluoride. The interval of the changing of these filters is dependent on the quality of your water as well as on the water consumption of your entire household. Neither NSA/ANSI 42 or 53 standard removes estrogen (this filter is certified for both), you would need a filter that is NSF/ANSI 401 certified; as far as I can find there is no filter for the Samsung (or any other refrigerator) with that certification, you would need a separate filtration solution for your entire water supply. The NSF/ANSI description/standards can be found here: http://www.nsf.org/services/by-industry/water-wastewater/residential-water-treatment/residential-drinking-water-treatment-standards/ **Q: Is this a legitimate filter or is it a knock off ? What steps have you taken to ensure the authenticity of this filter ? thanks for your help** A: I am not sure where Amazon is getting these things from but they are complete junk! I had purchased 2. The first one cracked all along the side leaking water after only 2 months. I thought I must have got a lemon so I put the other one in. 2 week is all it lasted before the entire filter snapped off from the head flooding our kitchen! I am so mad right now with Amazon. I will NEVER purchase another water filter off Amazon. Please spend the extra money and just get it direct from you refrigerator manufacturer so you know for sure it’s authentic and the quality is up to spec. Amazon should be ashamed of themselves selling this junk. **Q: Has anyone else gotten a bunch of grey water right after replacing? Is this normal? It clears up after a gallon or so but haven't had this on previous** A: As per the manual, you need to run a bunch of water through the filter to clear charcoal sentiment. The exact procedure I follow is:1. Turn off ice maker (to prevent water from running into it)2. Change water filter. It is not necessary to turn water off first, but be careful as there will be water in the filter you remove.3. With a pitcher collect water from the door until the water is clear and appears drinkable (maybe 2-3 gallons typically).4. Turn ice maker back on.5. Reset water filter light. **Q: my current filter says haf-sin/xme and da29-00020a/b. is this a compatible replacement?** A: Yes! My filter says the same thing. I went to lowe's and asked about it, they said its the same exact filter they just changed the last letter just to update it. But, yes, it is compatible. ## Frequently Bought Together - SAMSUNG Genuine Filters for Refrigerator Water and Ice, Carbon Block Filtration for Clean, Clear Drinking Water, DA29-00020B-2P, 2 Pack - SAMSUNG Genuine Filter for Refrigerator Water and Ice, Carbon Block Filtration, Reduces 99% of Harmful Contaminants for Clean, Clear Drinking Water, 6-Month Life, HAF-QIN/EXP, 1 Pack --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ph/products/1963526-samsung-haf-cin-2p-exp-genuine-refrigerator-water-filter-reduces](https://www.desertcart.ph/products/1963526-samsung-haf-cin-2p-exp-genuine-refrigerator-water-filter-reduces) --- *Product available on Desertcart Philippines* *Store origin: PH* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
