The Happiest Toddler on the Block: The New Way to Stop the Daily Battle of Wills and Raise a Secure and Well-Behaved One- to Four-Year-Old

Must-have for any parent.
This book has provided quite a bit of insight for me. It is easy to read and I finished it in one day, it was not intimidating nor did it give off the "Self-Help" vibe. Not only did the book provide solutions for more effective communication with your toddler, but it also EXPLAINED the stages of toddlerhood, allowing me some peace of mind that, yes, my daughter WAS normal. Within a few hours of reading I was already more patient with her and we were practicing effective communication.I bought the book months ago and still refer back to it frequently. I would recommend this book to ANY mother or father with a toddler (or with an infant... they grow into toddlers FAST!). Harvey Karp is a genius, no doubt about it.

Good Communication skills taught
The book is an excellent buy, I have a 2.5yr old and have had this book since my son was 1. I still refer to this book for guidance. Its a different book with different concepts introduced and I have been able to communicate with my son much much better which lead to a dramatic reductions in tantrums and cries as he understood me and I understood him. The book is intended for children age 1 and above as it would'nt make any sense before that. My son learnt sign language at age 10 months and is very good at communicating (also help from this book plays a factor) and is well-spoken now. The book is good until age 4 of children, so I know will be reading through the next few years for sure.

The Happiest Toddler on the Block
It is amazing how logical this book is. When you stop and think about the development of a child, it is very similar to our prehistoric ancestors. This book helped bridge the gap and make me aware of how my toddler is feeling. I would recommend it to anyone...in fact, I purchased it as a gift for my sister.

Enjoyed "Happiest Baby on the Block" better
Maybe it's because I'm not as desperate or sleep-deprived as when I read "Happiest Baby on the Block", but this wasn't as great as I was hoping... Kind of wish he would just get to the point and many of his points are repeated... Having a tough time getting through the whole thing :/

It works.
I loved happiest baby book and DVD. This has been super helpful. Folks look at me weird when I growl at my toddler. But I've NEVER had either of my two toddlers touch our glass fireplace insert (think hot wood stove, but prettier). My kids love that I understand them and their feelings. Our friends said this didn't work as well with their daughter, so I suspect this book doesn't work with all toddlers. But it worked great for mine!

This was the older version of the book
I bought this book and the authors other one with a very similar title. I returned this one because I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the revised version. The content was very similar to his newer version.

for my grandson!
I purchased this for my daughter to help with raising my first grandchild. He is a dear and has thrived with this method she has used. I am truly appreciative that this book was available and she found it so useful.

Good sense
I bought this for my daughter but haven't read it all myself, what I did read made good sense to me.

Disappointing
Having read how Pierce Brosnan swore by this book for dealing with troublesome toddlers, I thought I'd have a go. The idea of treating your wee one like a Neanderthal in terms of her brain development seemed strange, and I must confess that I haven't been able to overcome the embarrassment of trying to use the procedures in this book. Christopher Green's 'Toddler Taming' was much more successul - sorry!
