They are cheap and not well thought out. If you look at the picture you will see that the end of the hook is angled outwards, therefore the arc it follows has a greater radius than the top (sharp bend) of the hook. Consequently you can either position the eye so that the end of the hook enters it, but it will then jam as you try to close it fully or you can match the top of the hook with the eye, in which case you can't get the end into the eye. In this case you can latch the hook BEHIND the eye and it will hold, but this is not what you paid for.One of the hooks was delivered only partly formed. no hook bends at all.

Ordered a pack of 4 and received 2, luckily an Amazon assistant was very helpful and refunded it. Smaller than they look but that’s probably my mistake if there is measurements in the description. Will do the job for the price
